Tea Party Dead? Lugar Loses

Lugar served with distinction, however, as with the case of several politicians lost his way and fundamental core beliefs along the way. He like many on the right lost faith with the message and felt by positioning themselves toward the left would guarantee reelection and acceptance of the electorate, however, people demand their politicians stand by their convictions, deliver a message they can embrace, not some canned pantie waste message. Once upon a time in America the government was required to live within it's means as the electorate is required to do so. Now we have a government that demonstrates irresponsibility and fiscal suicide. Change is coming, if you like it or not, the day of fiscal and monetary reckoning is fast approaching.

Conservatives had long targeted Lugar for defeat, arguing he represented a Republican establishment in Congress that has acquiesced to the Democratic party. They singled out Lugar's votes for the bailouts, in support of the president's stimulus and votes to confirm U.S. Supreme Court nominees Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor as evidence of his "RINO" (Republican in name only) status.

More to the point, if a republican lawmaker advocates responsible governance and pragmatic legislation predicated on the facts, he’s deemed by the TPM a heretic and targeted for defeat.

The TPM is not only a danger to what few responsible republicans are left, they’re a danger to the Nation as a whole.

I voted for Mourdock and did so in the end because he was the State Treasurer in a state that has balanced the budget and did so in a time when this was not an easy trick to turn.

No debate that ignore the deficit should be allowed to occur.

If the irresponsible snakes who have been stealing us blind in the past are allowed to continue, we're sunk. We need mourdocks who will cut spending and restore sanity to our budget process. Hell, restore a budget to our budget process.

The democrats will have to step back and see how they can spin it. I bet Soros' tax exempt media matters people are going through Mourdock's school records as we speak. Lugar did not look well when he spoke to the media. It's an insulting way for a career politician to end up and he should have seen it coming.
He should have known...but often it's hard to see through the lies and misconceptions presented by a political bandwagon being driven by a mesmerizing attachment with the nation's first black President.

When he figured out he had lain with the dogs, it was too late to get rid of the fleas.

Let's not worry about his sorry, rich ass though. He's fixed for life...like most of the elected thieves in our government. We have to pay his full salary til he dies.

We have municipalities cutting the pay of policemen making $40K/year and we pay retired representatives over three times that. Where is the logic in that? There is none...it's that we let them set their own salaries and perks. They make each other rich.

Let's now give the boy a shot at getting rich.

Dems would rather run against a TeaTard than Lugar

It was an interesting and silent revolution around here.

Lugar was absolutely untouchable for 30 years in the Senate and for 20 in state and city offices before that.

This election has national overtones. Make no mistake.

Brilliant.

You might have a chance....like maybe 5%.

But I'll take that chance if it means putting someone in there who will add to the backbone needed to really take a scalpel to our bloated federal government.

TeaTards do not do well at the statewide level losing Senate elections in Delaware, Nevada, Connecticut, New York, Alaska

Opens up another potential Senate seat for the Dems

Doesnt matter who Dems want to run against, they are still going to lose alot of power in 2012.

With Romney leading the charge, it will be a tough sell for Republicans.

A lot of Republicans will stay home on election day

This is true. Looking like Romney is going to be the Repub standard- bearer barring a brokered convention. If thats the case, a lot of cons are NOT going to be fired- up.

The Tea Party never went away, they have been quietly amassing a war chest and winning Local and State elections by the bushel.

A TP candidate beats a near dead man in a primary. HOO RAH!

Watch the TP guy end AG subsidies in Indiana now?

LMAO.

With Obama in the office, you think a lot of Republicans will stay home?

LOL

Especially in Indiana where this new guy had the support of most of the GOP machinery.

He has a better chance than Lugar did. The dems only hope was that Lugar would fall over dead the day before the election.

Lugar is a fine gentleman. Time for some new blood.

Agreed.

The times and demands have changed since he first got into office.

No slight to him, but he needs to let in someone with a more current set of idea, methinks.

Dems can now turn up the heat in Indiana. With a TeaTard leading the charge they just have to lay back and let him speak and allow the voters to say.....Did he really say that?

O'Donnel, Angle, Miller and Palladino all over again

TeaTards took the Senate away from Republicans in 2010........ Looks like they may do it again
