Clinton is a left leaning centrist..a bit authoritarian(no, libs are socially tolerant. Think Liberatarian and drop the righ wing economics enough so that they are no longer considered a right winger)

Matthews is a blow in the wind centrist.

Pat Buchannan is a right leaning centrist(yes, Paleoconservatives are just that--right leaning centrists!)

I added Buchannan for a reason--It is not true to think that all centrists are Dems. Do not forget the non-Southern Republicans Congress members(not many of them today). Crist, Schawzeneggar and other moderate type Republicans that hover around the center.

Another point to make out--every Republican that denounced any type of Stimulus besides Tax cuts are probably not centrists(Exception--Palin governs as a moderate, McCain is more Authoritarian than Right winger yet believes too much in the infalliability of corporations. The list continues. )

Good replies, expect for spitting in my face. I do want to point out though that it wasn't just Bush. Bush didn't break pork records in 2004, 05 and 2006 by himself. It was the Tom Delay/Dennis Hastert GOP that put all the pork in and Bush just signed.

If it was GW alone, the GOP wouldn't have lost all those seats in both houses and keep in mind that not one Democrat encumbant lost a seat.

This is my fear. My fear is that the GOP spin on the last 8 years is going to work by 2010 or 2012. They keep saying it was all Bush.

And that's bullshit. He couldn't have done this along.

So stop believing that the GOP are fiscally conservative. Reagan said it, Bush 1 said it, and Bush 2 said it, yet all of them outspent Clinton. They might all have spent less on social programs, but they still outspent Clinton because of war and defense fraud/theft/corruption.
