Yeah I don't agree with this. She was shamed into it by people who weren't listening to her.

There is blackface as caricature, and there is blackface as costume. Looks to me like she was referring to the latter. If some gaggle of We the Offended are going to start dictating to other people what they can and can't look like, we're all in a heap of doodoo.

Several years ago (maybe I dunno 15) I let some women friends dress me up as Ernie K-Doe for Hallowe'en in New Orleans. They did a fantastic job. Then we all went out to Frenchmen Street (where all the action is on Hallowe'en) to display me. Nobody anywhere took offense including our black friends --- they all thought it was fucking hilarious. Nobody recognized me either. Of course I wasn't doing a caricature, I wasn't adopting an accent or gyrating around, nothing like that --- just a model.

People gotta LIGHTEN THE FUCK UP, no pun intended.

She lived her entire life and built her entire career on spouting conservative propaganda. What she said would have been fine on Faux. But she's not on Faux anymore, and she doesn't deserve a career in journalism after making a mockery out of it on Faux.
