Heart- Straight On -

My all time favorite guitarist in the world.. Mark Knopfler - An hour long video of incredible music. Simply untouchable.

Love David Gilmour's guitar playing. He doesn't shred, but he has incredible tone and phrasing. Says more with a few notes than most shredders can with their volleys of notes.

Dutch group Focus. Video kind of wanders around the crowd, but Jan Akkerman was really working the fretboard on this song.

Quite simply, the greatest (and most powerful) guitar track I've ever heard in my life....

The beautiful thing about music, is it's the opposite of what I'm about to say, but I have to say this anyway, to get it out of my system...

..."Talk about star-power, this video has it spades!"

Can anyone tell me if the red guitar is a Rickenbacher (or not)?

Did anyone notice the subtle difference between the two lead guitar solo's in the middle of the song?

It's one of the few times I've ever felt sorry for John Lennon.

I saw him live at the Strand in Manhattan Beach and sat just 3 feet away from the guy.

The tables there are set up like a Shakey's pizza. Long tables with one end starting near the stage and going out from there. I sat on the end, closest to the stage, right where they put his chair.

He'd jump up from time-to-time and do his Hendrix stuff (playing behind his head, with his teeth, etc), but then he would stick out his right leg to find his bass player in order to lead him back to his chair.

Towards the end of the concert, I finally had to lean over and yell, "Hey Jeff, you're very good!"

LOL! I never had the pleasure of seeing him live. Sadly, he has passed on. Another in a long line of musicians who have left us far too soon. Here is another one of Jeff, with the late great Stevie Ray Vaughn.
