I will. You mean that Holy Spirit shit? What a narcissist.
You sound very accepting here...
Jesus knocking up his own mother and becoming his own father is my favorite Biblical fairy tale - next to Noah's Ark.
If you have that view-that's fine.
However deep down inside you must realize that an attitude like that means that you're not accepting of the views/thoughts of other people.
I disagree generally speaking mgh. I am an agnostic and require evidence of something. However, I'm a human living in a society where there are millions who believe in various gods or supernatural beings. This doesn't cause me any discomfort at all. I do think religion is a manmade sauve for the soul. Something to make the world not so scary, death being the scariest part.
But I really tread lightly when talking to someone in person regarding religion, evolution, belief, etc. I know many people's entire self worth and life are built on these beliefs and although I like to have spirited discussions with those who can handle it, for those whom it would scare or confuse too much I hang back. As long as other people are just living their life and not forcing me to believe or participate in whatever their thing is I have no problem with anyone.
I have n problem with this post whatsoever. The OP's post blatantly made fun of religious people.
You defined scapegoat correctly, but, Jesus is the Lamb who is slain on the day of attonement. The scapegoat is driven from the camp after the Lamb is slain. (Ref. Leviticus 16)Jesus himself is a scapegoat.
A scapegoat is a person or animal that is imbued with all of the sins and shortcomings of the tribe for the year that is then driven out into the desert to die, thus absolving the entire tribe of its sins.
This has been part of human culture going back thousands of years before Christ. Christianity simply upgraded the idea and made it the centerpiece of their new religion. All hail the scapegoat.
it might go back further, but fdr really like fucking over people that didn't do as he ordered.
I do not consider myself religious in any traditional sense, nor would I say that I am deeply patriotic, but I am tired of "American" and "Christian" being used as descriptors of what is happening in the popular discourse.
I am tired of letting the loudest among us be those who call for un-American behavior in the name of patriotism. I am tired of letting the dialogue be monopolized by those who pass off prejudice as faith. Compassion matters. Dignity matters. Exercising self-discipline when we are scared and angry matters.
MUCH MORE: Since When Did Scapegoating And Taking Revenge Become American And Christian Principles?
Amen! Words to live by.

Fuck religious people.
You are all responsible for the bulk of death and suffering on this planet for the entirety of human existence.
God's message sucks as it seems lost on most.

It's evident. It's happening. It will continue.
Same game, different ends.

The disconnect you suffer comes as a result of an ambiguous message from above.
Apparently God is able to order every quantum particle in the universe in such a way as to create a stable universe but is unable to give his most enlightened creation a cohesive vision of a sustainable pathway foreward.
Epic fail.

don't worry, I've challenged scores of your type, they all failed, but, like you, they still believe the lie that was told them even though there is not fact to back it.
like faith, they just believe.
let the irony sink in

Unlike you, I don't need to kill to prove my faith.
My legacy is truth.
Humans have killed, tortured, maimed, supressed in the name of some entity or another for the entirety of our existence. The only moral certainty in any of it is relative to the beliefs of the offender.
Yeah, because atheists haven't mass murdered anyone. They killed more than religious people, epic fail indeed.Apparently God is able to order every quantum particle in the universe in such a way as to create a stable universe but is unable to give his most enlightened creation a cohesive vision of a sustainable pathway foreward.
