Should Trump protect the Strait of Hormuz for everyone else?

Ya gotta love how the EU was trying to reign in Trump in the strait and now they've gone to threatening Iran.
Trump should tell the EU they're now on their own....call it malicious compliance.

I'm sure it's tempting for Trump to tell the European socialists what idiots they are, but we will want some of them as allies when it's time to invade Iran.

Than let them make the first move in protecting their oil.
Then, and only then should they expect our help.

I think we are more concerned about our local allies in the area, and other friendly nations like Brazil and the Philippines.

The sanctions are working. Stay the course. Let Britain attack the Muzzie Beasts, it's their ships that are being attacked by Iran.

Had Trump not gotten out of Obama's terrible agreement with Iran, British ships would not be getting attacked by Iran. So, I do believe we need to stand with the British. But where is everyone else? When is that German bitch Merkel going to send some ships to deal with the Iranians? That bitch won't even open her fat mouth to condemn Iran. NATO is a joke.

Here is a novel approach, Europe and China depend on the flow of oil passing through the strait, let them stand up and secure safe passage.

The Iranians aren't targeting ships for China.

I think we should tell the Europeans and most others that, we're not going to defend their oil tankers and that they better send forces over to protect what's theirs.

America is energy independent and has very little oil going through the strait.

China has 85% of it's oil going through the strait.

Almost every other country has a huge percentage of its oil going through the straight.

Should America protect everybody else? If so why should we demand in return, if anything?
No, we are not the world's policeman or Mother Theresa.

There was a time when we didn't think we'd have to invade Afghanistan and Iraq, but then 9-11 happened.
Would invading Iraq have prevented 9/11? Not likely.

It's not necessary to invade a country if the objective is to disarm a regime and it's military.

We don't need to control the land.

Should we or shouldn't we? I'd have to investigate our responsibility (if any) under NATO. Perhaps these incidents will serve as another kick in the ass for our Europeans allies to invest in their own security, just as Trump advised them to step up to their commitments. And now with our unfortunate interest in Iraq, there is another consideration.

I mainly use MarineTraffic.com live map feature to identify what Great Lakes ore ship is going past the Marine City or Port Huron live webcam on YouTube, the old Alpena and the Saginaw are 2 of my favorites. I'm using it now to see the current marine traffic in and around the strait.

America doesn't answer to NATO.

American interests are less than the Euros', but America retains the right to protect our interests and the interests of our allies.

The question is what should America do, because we can't depend on anyone else.

No. Not alone.
There should be an alliance of all those who ship through the Strait.

It’s a global market so the global supply can’t be interrupted or it fucks the economy for everyone, including us.
Ask Obama. He made that happen on purpose.
It hurts America much less because we don't have to export oil if we don't want to.

It would sink China, so in a sense it would benefit America.
