Should The Government Cut Back On Welfare Benefits or Should They Be More Generous?

The welfare system is way too large right now, and discourages work by the generous payments it gives out, and the way it is structured. If we were to cut welfare benefits, the government would save money through less welfare funding, and earn more money through income taxes since more people would be getting jobs via the discouragement of living off a super small pay-check.

Good thing I don't run things because there would be no welfare, Medicaid or any of that other social bullshit we taxpayers are forced to fund.

People need to get of their asses and take care of themselves and THEIR kids.

Agreed. I'm a local truck driver so I spend a lot of time in industrial parks. If I could only get paid a ten dollar bill for every HELP WANTED sign I see during my work week, I wouldn't have to work myself.

This is not to mention that in my field of work, there are thousands of job opportunities; some willing to train you while you are getting paid. But because we can't get Americans off of their SNAP's cards and Obama phones, employers see no alternative but to hire foreigners. Many of them can't even speak the English language.

My father is a retried bricklayer. He collects a nice pension. His union contacted him to see if their retirees could find young people interested in that field of work. Granted, it's very demanding physically, but my father made a great career as a bricklaying and they can't find young people to hire. Sure, some will apply, but they don't want to quit dope to take a job with a very promising future. It's just not worth it. They would rather stay at McDonald's jobs, and why not? Free medical coverage thanks to Commie Care.

I always wondered what happened to those 99 weekers of unemployment....

Guess the lazy bums finally got a job.

Welfare, like many other things, needs to sit in a place within a system that works.

But education doesn't work, and many social programs don't work and the whole country is geared towards screwing people over. So welfare doesn't work either.

I've always thought that certain welfare payments should only be given after having worked for so many years, and it increases the more you've worked. So after 20 years of work you'd get more than after 5 years and before 5 years you get nothing.

With other welfare payments programs should be set up to get people being more included in society. Just because someone has a problem doesn't mean they should be left out.

Indeed, and with the money saved the job creators could get another tax cut

How 'bout leaving it the way it is and has been for years, and allowing investment in Americans so we can bring down the numbers, and thanks for the corrupt world depression. Obama didn't change the system, you brainwashed functional morons and the GOP did with your corrupt bubble/bust. We're still spending 400+billion /year on victims of your corrupt party, used to be a trillion. Great job! And NOBODY WANTS to be on welfare, 80% chance racist hater dupes.

who is surprised this "hater dupe" FOR FAILED PROGRESSIVE IDEOLOGY is on here making a fool of himself again?^^^^

Why ask people to work where there are no jobs

Kind of like fishing in a dry pond

What we are seeing is the effect of trickle down

Those jobs never do trickle down to some areas. Until they do we have welfare
