LONDON, (PIC)-- Sheikh Ra’ed Salah, the leader of the Islamic movement in 1948 occupied Palestine, has won his appeal against the British government’s attempt to deport him from the United Kingdom, spokesman for the movement Naji Zuhaidat said on Saturday.

Nujaidat told Quds Press that the important thing is the moral and symbolic victory, which he described as a Palestinian, Arab, and Islamic achievement since Salah returns home with no stain on his character or against his name.

One would expect the leader of an islimic movement to be familiar with his own religion that says allah made Israel the Jewish homeland and that doesn't say one word about "palestine" or fakestinians.

Quran 5:20-21: Remember Moses said to his people: 'O my people! Recall in remembrance the favor of Allah unto you, when He produced prophets among you, made you kings, and gave you what He had not given to any other among the peoples. O my people! Enter the holy land which Allah hath assigned unto you, and turn not back ignominiously, for then will ye be overthrown, to your own ruin.

Quran 17:104 And We said to the Children of Israel after him: "Dwell in the land, then, when the final and the last promise comes near [i.e. the Day of Resurrection or the descent of Christ ['Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary) on the earth]. We shall bring you altogether as mixed crowd

No, the important thing is that the British Government were trying to circumvent the law, free speech and civil rights because of their political persuasion and the courts stopped that from happening.

He was invited to the UK by members of Parliament and had many people to speak to. He should never have been put in jail. Here Britain was acting in a similar fashion to how Israel has recently, stopping Europeans and Americans from entering the West Bank having been invited by the Mayor of Bethlehem.

Anyone who values democracy and civil liberties will be glad that on this occasion his appeal won but concerned that the UK government should try to act in this way to stifle freedom of speech just as Israel stops health workers, care workers, teachers, Christians and Jews from seeing the real situation in Palestine.

Fundamentalist activists are allowed free speech but when they bring their anti-Semitic ranting into the arena that changes the whole ball game. As for foreigners going into the West Bank, Israel is running the show there. People need to face up to that fact.
