GAZA, (PIC)-- Gaza premier Ismail Haneyya has said that his government was exerting big efforts to avert further escalation in the Israeli occupation forces’ aggression on the Gaza Strip.

Haneyya, who was attending a celebration to lay down foundation stone of a hospital for the elderly people in Gaza, also congratulated Sheikh Raed Salah, the leader of the Islamic movement in 1948 occupied Palestine, for the court ruling that rejected the British government’s deportation decision.

He said that the court verdict, which ruled against his deportation, constituted a victory over the Zionist lobby in Britain and over attempts to smear his reputation and curb his diplomatic moves.

Yasser Arafat, the founder of the Palestinian movement, was born, raised and educated in Egypt. It was he that decided to call the Arabs "Palestinians" in of 1964. Yasser was a prodigy of his uncle the Mufti of Jerusalem, leader of the Muslim Nazi brigade and certified as a Nazi by the US state dept and responsible for the indirect deaths of approximately half a million Jews, by asking Hitler to kill them instead of allowing them to leave.

Blah, blah, blah, his term in office expired three years ago so what right does he have to speak for the government? When is he going to end the Hamas occupation of Gaza and allow the Palestinian Arabs to have free democratic elections?

Whose term expired? The prime minister and the cabinet retain their positions until a new government is appointed by the president, approved by the PLC, and sworn into office.

Hamas holds on to power in Gaza at the point of a gun, not by the power of law. The law requires elections be held every three years, and by consistently blocking elections since it term in office ran out in 2009, Hamas has effected a coup, overthrowing the Palestinian Arab Constitution, betraying the Palestinian Arab people, perverting the democratic system that brought it into power and if Hamas' illegal occupation of Gaza is not stopped, forever dividing the Palestinian Arab people into two distinct and separate peoples, both too impotent to make any political gains for the Palestinian Arab people.

Hamas' illegal occupation of Gaza is the principal obstacle the Palestinian Arabs face in trying to establish a Palestinian Arab state.

    Not!

It is Abbas who is holding up elections. And the Prime minister and his Cabinet serve until replaced.

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Senior Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya said Monday that his party refuses to hold elections until they can operate freely in the West Bank.

Responding to a question from a Ma'an reporter on why the Gaza government has not permitted the Central Elections Commission to update the electoral register, al-Hayya said elections will not happen without more freedom for Hamas members in the West Bank.

As part of a May 2011 reconciliation deal between his party and Hamas, the sides signed up to resolving curbs on political freedom, a new transitional government and fresh elections within a year. The deal has repeatedly stalled as the parties continue to argue over its key tenets.

The Central Elections Commission reopened its office in Gaza in January, but says it has been prevented from working in the field, and must update the electoral register in advance of any poll.

Abbas must form a government immediately or resign from the prime ministerial post, al-Hayya told Ma'an. Abbas insists he is waiting for the go ahead by Hamas while it resolves internal dissent within its ranks.

The whole world knows it is Hamas that has blocked elections ever since their term in office ran out in 2009, and since then the illegal Hamas occupation of Gaza (HOG) has served the interests of those who oppose the creation of a Palestinian state, not the interests of the Palestinian people.
