SHAME ON THE REPUBLICANS: Their Behavior Is "Economically Illiterate And Disgracefully Cynical"

One of the most-respected and economically intelligent publications in the world, The Economist, has turned against the Republican party for its disgraceful behavior with respect to the US debt-ceiling negotiations.

The Republicans, the Economist points out, would rather disrupt the US economy and put the country into default than compromise on a long-term deficit and debt reduction plan.

This behavior is an abdication of the Republicans' responsibilities as elected officials. It puts the Republicans' self-interest ahead of the country's.

Well of course they would. They are too busy kissing the Tea Party's ass, and lest we forget what their #1 priority is.....

The republicans seem to be working for a small base of the American people.

The rest of the country including the economists have grown tired of the threats that are aimed at distroying this country.

JFK was POTUS after eight years of the last competent Republican to hold that office, DDE.
Today's Republican party is radical, it no longer represents the interests of the American people, it is controlled by and funded by corporations, most of which operate in foreign lands and compete in a global economy.

It takes two to tango, TM. It's not just one party pushing things to the limits, it a major clash of ideologies that's pushing things to the limit.

One side wants the status quo of spiraling into chaos. The other wants to change things just enough to stop their base from bitching.

What did the Economist say when Obama and the Dems voted against raising the debt ceiling?

    Can you search the archives?
