Robert Gibbs is quitting

pretty typical for them to only serve a couple of years, no big deal.
He quit halfway through Obamas' term and we hate quitters don't we?

He's just joining the fleeing mob.

Stupid fuck.

George W. Bush's turnovers are too numerous to list. Go to page 5, here:
George_W._Bush_Cabinet

In his second term, President Clinton shuffled most of the 14 top administration posts in his Cabinet. Only four members of President Reagan's original Cabinet remained a year into his second term. President Nixon replaced every member of his Cabinet at least once in the five years of his administration, and only three of Jimmy Carter's Cabinet members served the entire four years of his presidency.

So can I expect my third neg rep from you in as many days?

It is no big deal... oh, except when Scott McClellan quit. For some reason that was a HUGE deal. The Republic was coming to an end and Bush was going down.

Scott McClellan was actually fired because he no longer abided by Bush's policies.

If it walks and quacks like a duck, it is a duck.

i've yet to see any indication that the president is a socialist... no matter how many times the same lies are repeated.
Some filter facts, some don't.

We all have the power to choose in which group we are. I choose the latter group.

And before you go off on some accusation of partisan bullshit, I was one of the enthusiastic volunteers for the 2008 Inauguration.

you mean you're selective about the facts you acknowledge?

i agree.

to me, you get to have your own opinion. you don't get to choose your own facts.

Funny stuff. Please explain how four more years of gridlock in DC advances the needs of America. Obama should just fade away. Hope he takes his socialism with him.

are you people really this goofy. he has a higher approval rating than either reagan or clinton at this point in his term. you didn't win the senate.

apparently, there are an awful lot of people who don't think like you (thank heaven).

and it would be really really helpful if you defined socialism instead of just tossing the term around because that's the party line.

Jill, you're asking for miracles. These are the same people who carp away at their same ignorant bullshit day in and day out. I'm bored with it all.

If I meant that, I would write that.

When I want your editing "skills", I'll request them.

I doubt he'll be missed. He really did come off as a smug & arrogant little worm. I wish him the worst of luck in his future endeavors.

If it walks and quacks like a duck, it is a duck.

It's not even walking like a duck, according to card-carrying Socialists.

What Mr. Johns, Mr. Gingrich, and others brandishing the "socialist" s-word are really complaining of is a return to the policies of John Maynard Keynes, the English economist who advocated vigorous government involvement in the economy, from regulation to pump priming, says labor historian Peter Rachleff of Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn.

"Socialism suggests getting rid of capitalism altogether," says Dr. Rachleff. "Mr. Obama is not within a million miles of an ideology like that."

For what it's worth, socialists deny that Obama is one of them – and even seem a bit insulted by the suggestion.

"I have been making a living telling people Obama is not a socialist," says Frank Llewellyn, national director of the Democratic Socialists of America. "It's frustrating to see people using our brand to criticize programs that have nothing to do with our brand and are not even working."

Adds Billy Wharton, co-chair of the Socialist Party USA: "I am not even sure he's a liberal. I call him a hedge fund Democrat."

I keep it simple and compare Obama to the definition.

Gibbs a terrible public speaker/communicator that interjected 'aahhhh' every three spoken words.

Can you ad lib without pauses, and ahhhh's or ummms?? If so, you're missing your calling. I'm sure Leno or one of the other late night guys would love to have you demonstrate your talents. And I hear they pay well, too, for one-shot performances!

They need someone better than Gibbs. I wish him well, but am not sorry to see him go.

I agree. He didn't like the discomfort of being on stage when the mudslinging in the anti-Obama press began (immediately in January 2009) and the questions from the designated press corps became more what had gone viral that day rather than the issues of the day.

So I wonder why he didn't just nationalize the banking industry? He could have raised taxes by executive order because of the economic emergency. He could have stuck to his guns and made sure universal health care was what we wound up with. Anything else?

 Not at all. Jan 2009 was during the Inauguration and I'm trying to think what press was anti-Obama (and as your side keeps telling us Fox is not press, I guess they are excluded, even though they were fawning all over him then, too).

So I wonder why he didn't just nationalize the banking industry? ....
He started with the auto industry. Then moved on to insurance.

.... He could have raised taxes by executive order because of the economic emergency.

....
No need. He just spends and that comes naturally.

....He could have stuck to his guns and made sure universal health care was what we wound up with. Anything else?
Nope, you've pretty much added some of the support. Thanks.
