The NFL Q-Back (worth about 22 million) disrespected the Country I defended and shed blood for and and when I complain, ignorant bigoted lefties call it "political correctness"? What a bunch of idiots.

Well, they have to decide if they want to continue supporting the team. If it's me, I do, and just let his stuff slide. I'd get over it.I don't like what he did, I don't like what he said. The two ends of the spectrum have different versions of PC.Normal Political Correctness is the weaponization of pretend offense in order to control the conversation and prevent discussion of topics that the lefties does not want addressed because they cannot defend their positions honestly.
How is any of that relevant to the QB flap?
He did actually show disrespect to the nation. This is not a false accusation. He did not forget to stand, or had a leg cramp.
Yes, the Left has essentially weaponized it, and even institutionalized it in some ways (look at your nearby college, for example). They leverage PC far more than does the Right, which usually only goes as far as what we're seeing here - complaints, insults, burning a jersey in effigy, etc.
Some on the Right go further, though, wanting to see Kaepernick punished for expressing himself. That goes too far in my book, and it does make them look hypocritical. But yes, it still pales in comparison to the behavior of the Left.
What we're seeing with this story, then, is the right wing version of PC. The left wing version is far more prevalent, virulent and counter-productive.

Say, I am a 49er football fan, (i'm actually not, but for purposes of discussion).
If I continue to support my team, I am indirectly supporting someone who has actively disrespected me.
I WANT to enjoy football, but this a-hole has interjected politics and division into what should be a unifying pastime.
Fans IDENTIFY with their teams. That is part of getting emotionally involved in the sport.
How could any patriotic American identify with this a-hole?
But I absolutely support his freedom of expression, and to me there is nothing more patriotic, more American, than defending it.
"I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it".
.
Sure. He has the Right to say disrespectful and divisive and hateful lies and insults to America and the American people.
I haven't heard anyone say otherwise.
But what of the fans who want to enjoy and support the sport and now have a QB that has admitted to hating them?
And that's precisely the same answer I'd give to someone on the other end of the spectrum.
This could get worse, you know. More athletes may do this.
.

Perhaps.. but there's a certain irony in that an African American, making millions of dollars playing a game, would be whining about he plight of African Americans.
Kaepernick is a nitwit and frankly as a quarterback, he stinks.
In fact, I can't think of anyone who is aggressively and specifically trying to improve race relations in this country. Everyone's just pointing the finger.
.
i thought the righties hate "political correctness " and it's destroying this country . Oh, and the righties are also supposed to be more tolerant when it comes to free speech!?
But Colin Kapernick passes on the anthem and the righty PC thugs go crazy . Same with that gymnast who forgot to put her hand over her heart during the medal ceremony .
Hypocrites as usual . It's their MO.

Which would be a good reason for people to stop following sports.
Why make heroes of people that have nothing but contempt for you?
Republicans don't like to talk about that.Shit, they haven't won a war since WWII and yet I'm not speaking Korean, Vietnamese, Spanish, or Arabic? How can such a thing be true if the defenders of America lose war after war and yet jack-shit changes here? Remarkable, with them defending my freedom all this time.i thought the righties hate "political correctness " and it's destroying this country . Oh, and the righties are also supposed to be more tolerant when it comes to free speech!?

I am especially entertained by the great boasting military types that believe we wouldn't even have a first amendment if they didn't invade Granada.
I should have been forced to eat kimchi, in a Ho Chi Mihn T-shirt, out of a tortilla, while praising Allah for his blessings long ago and yet here I am all happy as a clam drinking Kentucky bourbon from a bottle written in English. It seems like maybe they weren't protecting my right to grill hot dogs, download porn, and watch Wife-swap after all?
Not if you hear them tell it. No wonder so many of these poor souls kill themselves after they get out of the military. They come to the realization that what they did was all for NOTHING. The suicide rate of the recently discharged military is astonishing and a national tragedy.

I don't have a problem talking about how many commit suicide. What I won't entertain is the speculation put forth in the last comment as to why. Without any proof, the poster has concluded the reason. I could say it is because they serve their country and pieces of shit like that poster are ungrateful little bastards.

You could say that but it wouldn't be remotely true.
It's as true as the claim the idiot above said as to why they do it.
And Timmy goes ape#### over us righties using our right to descent.i thought the righties hate "political correctness " and it's destroying this country . Oh, and the righties are also supposed to be more tolerant when it comes to free speech!?

Ya... you could say that... Because you are a moron. You love war and don't have a clue about "blowback". You justify legalized murder as long as you don't have to pull the trigger...then when those that do have nightmares and hallucinations in the daylight and loud noises drive them out of their minds they do the only thing they can to end the horror.
You're just being silly, but I'll play. Let's say some one used the "n" word to refer to all black people and not an individual and so on, then it's not a personal insult. You would still find the examples I gave personally offensive so you would object them but you don't find Kapernick's gesture personally offensive to you deride those who do. You many not have any respect for America, but many people have died for because they do. It is amazing how people on the left can pretend to be upset because a gold star family appears to have been insulted but see nothing wrong with Kapernick insulting all gold star families. Clearly, your's is the true hypocrisy.Yes, his gesture was offensive to patriotic Americans, just as some one using the "n" word is offensive to black people and some one calling a woman a c**t is offensive to women or some one calling a gay man a fag is offensive. Are all these things just a matter of pc to you and insignificant because they are just offensive? In other words, you think patriotism is only a matter of political correctness and that free speech means you shouldn't be held accountable for what you say.i thought the righties hate "political correctness " and it's destroying this country . Oh, and the righties are also supposed to be more tolerant when it comes to free speech!?

What is more politically correct than standing for the nat anthem? The guy doesn't stand up, so what ? It literrally has no bearing to anyone other than offending their beliefs .
Right wingers act like they ain't PC , truth is they are.
Does it mean anything to you at all that each of the other insults you listed is a personal insult against an individual, and refusing to stand for the anthem is not?
Just ridiculous comparisons, all of them.

People kill themselves over the opinions of others? You are some kind of stupid.
Conservatives do support free speech, which is exactly why they are using theirs to criticize Kap for disrespecting the National Anthem and this country...which has provided him with opportunities to make millions throwing a leather ball around.i thought the righties hate "political correctness " and it's destroying this country . Oh he's getting attention...NEGATIVE attention. If I were he I would focus more on playing better so he can continue to have a job.he's looking for attention. and getting none. No one gives a shit if he sits on the bench or stands up. His next employers will. Remember repercussions of one's actions most always come back to bite them. I can't wait. he'll be booed at every stadium if he steps on the field. disrespect the country that gave you the opportunity and the fans won't let you forget what you did. Yeppers, I see a big cut coming.
Most of the media I've seen doging on him are ex & current military. The guys career is likely just about over after his last surgery so I see this as a publicity stunt and not much more.i thought the righties hate "political correctness " and it's destroying this country . He certainly has no right to talk about "blacks being oppressed" given his pampered life to this point. It rings completely hollow. Had he done something with his millions of dollars prior to this to lead by example I might go along. At this point he just looks like a media whore & the media is eating it up.
There are rumors that he converted to islam and that his fiancee is a black lies matter activist...anyone know if this is true?
