Rep. Paul Says Defense Bill Assures 'Descent Into Totalitarianism...

GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul warned that the National Defense Authorization Act, which was passed by Congress this month, will accelerate the country’s “slip into tyranny” and virtually assures “our descent into totalitarianism.”

We have been descending towards totalitarianism since Ape Lincoln centralized power in DC.

But do not worry, the narcotized populace will welcome tyranny.

It does warms the cockles of my heart to read that in December, the sale of firearms broke all records.

.

Wait. Ape Lincoln?

Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it. You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!

911 changed everything. Did you hear? They must take our rights away so we can have rights. And we should be very happy about that. After all, everything has changed right? 911 has been very very good for Big Brother. But it has been a terrible disaster for the American People.

Don't you love how not only did 2,500 people get murdered but the government uses that atrocity as a reason to do whatever the fuck they want and limit our civil liberties.. Then the TSA shacking down little children WTF...

Ron Paul will win the nomination for a reason....

The government has help kill many innocent people, fast and furious comes to mind.

So people can be murdered by guns and gangs will be a problem so progressives can sit back and say "we have a problem and here is our solution - ban the Second Amendment."

That is my theory anyways...

Then they can have their UK type socialist society that they are dreaming about...

Over my dead body and these socialist wackos label me the nut???

GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul warned that the National Defense Authorization Act, which was passed by Congress this month, will accelerate the country’s “slip into tyranny” and virtually assures “our descent into totalitarianism.”

“The founders wanted to set a high bar for the government to overcome in order to deprive an individual of life or liberty,” Paul, the libertarian congressman, said Monday in a weekly phone message to supporters. “To lower that bar is to endanger everyone. When the bar is low enough to include political enemies, our descent into totalitarianism is virtually assured. The Patriot Act, as bad as its violations against the Fourth Amendment was, was just one step down the slippery slope. The recently passed National Defense Authorization Act continues that slip into tyranny, and in fact, accelerates it significantly.”

The NDAA is the nearly $670 billion defense spending bill that covers the military budget and funding for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

One controversial provision mandates the detention of terror suspects and reaffirms the administration’s authority to detain those suspected of having ties to terrorist organizations.

“The Fifth Amendment is about much more than the right to remain silent in the face of government questioning,” Paul continued. “It contains very basic and very critical stipulations about the due process of law. The government cannot imprison a person for no reason and with no evidence presented and without access to legal council. The danger of the NDAA is its alarmingly vague, undefined criteria for who can be indefinitely detained by the U.S. government without trial.”

“It is no longer limited to members of Al Qaeda or the Taliban, but anyone accused of substantially supporting such groups or associated forces,” Paul continued. “How closely associated, and what constitutes substantial support? What if it was discovered that someone who committed a terrorist act was once involved with a charity? Or suppose a political candidate? Are all donors of that candidate or supporters of that candidate now suspects and subject to indefinite detainment? Is that charity now an associated force?”

Yea we're just supposed to sit back and accept the Patriot Act,NDAA,SOPA,TSA and so on because "911 changed everything." We have to give up our rights in order to have rights. It's so damn bizarre. But look how many Americans have bought into that? It's such a tragedy.

They're gonna give em back to you when the indefinite 'War on Terror' is over. So quit all the silly complaining. You'll get your rights back...When Big Brother decides to give em back to you.

Terrorism is certainly a realistic threat, however Americans shouldn't have to give up their liberties to fight such a threat...

Maybe they should be logical and not PC and profile those who look of Arab decent instead of grandmas bringing cupcakes to their grandchildren???

Or grandmother who have dissenting views of the US or even the president...

I know our civil liberties are all temporary until we catch the terrorists.

Meanwhile cops are just walking into peoples homes and tasing them because they cannot produce a warrant...

Not to mention the warrant doesn't exist......

Yeah the fucking thing doesn't even exist.....

Sorry to hear that. I really am. Unfortunately the Police State has arrived. 911 was the best thing that could have ever happened for Big Brother. I guess that's why so many now believe our Government has lied to us about 911. Who benefited most from 911? It certainly wasn't Al Qaeda and it sure as hell wasn't the American People. Big Brother benefited most from 911. And that is the very sad reality.

I hope more people attack them.........

I'm a church going conservative to boot.....At least morally I'm a conservative.

aaaahahaahhaahahahahahahahahahahaha

Let me ask you where they used unjust force..........

1st he resisted letting them in, when they said they had a warrant (they would lose their job for lying about that part I HIGHLY doubt it).
Then he wouldn't go down on the ground to get cuffed, he was fighting to stay on his feet so he got tased. Good.

And it turns out he was lying, he was harboring a person who had a warrant for his arrest.

All well deserved, tell him thanks for the tape it was enjoyable.

Tell your brother (or was that you) not to steal ipods.

i JUST WANT TO REMIND YOU FOLKS THAT MOST OF THE RIGHTS TO PRIVACY AND RIGHTS AFTER ARREST THAT YOU GUYs think were lost due to the patriot act, were long ago lost much thanks to the WAR ON DRUGS.

Face it if you don't own your OWN body?

Then imagining that you really have any rights is just you whistling in the dark.

Between the RICO laws, no knock laws, the confiscations of assets laws, FOR profit prisons coupled with hiring out prison labor?

Shoot kiddies, we've been living in an emerging police state for DECADES.

It's been 1984 for 27 years now.

I'm still waiting for the end of the United States as we know it.

No,you're wrong. "911 changed everything." I guess you didn't get the memo. 1984 is being ushered in right now.

It's been 2001 for 10 years now.

Still waiting.

You Paulites are among the same group who say "boxing is dead". They have literally been saying boxing is dead/dying for one hundred years.
