quite the turn out at that one nation rally

Fact: Beck's rally was less than 150K.

Fact: the dem's lovefest was less than 50K.

Fact: Beck's people hard worked that puppy for 6 months, the dems about two weeks.

Fact: in about 1/12th the time, the Dems pulled in about 1/3rd of Beck's rally. Impressive.

Conclusion: reactionary, while interesting, is not very impressive.

Jake your facts are not of this world come back to reality. Your facts are only valid in your mind, your facts are not factually correct, sorry.

I believe Jake is correct in his statements above. The Beck rally was promoted for alot longer than the one nation rally. Additionally, if Jakes facts are wrong you would have a better arguement if you provided anything that shows he is wrong. You can't just say "your facts are wrong" and viola, it's the truth. That is not how a debate goes. We are debating facts are we not? If not, no problem...continue on.

Firstly, despite Joke's insistence that this was a 'dems' rally, it was not. It was 'One Nation Working Together's' rally.

Who's involved in that group? Hundreds of left wing organizations. (Link below) Now, that many organizations should have been able to flood DC without breaking a sweat. That they had to bully people into attending, provide 'free shit' to get people to turn out, and basically that they were even desperate enough to do it (because it was a petty and childish 'if he can do it, we can do it' kind of thing to me).... That's fine. But, unless Joke can actually prove that it was the DNC, then everything else he says is, as usual, talking out of his ass.

Union members were forced to attend
Yes they had free tshirts
Yes they had a free meal
yes they had a free bus ride to and from the rally

The closest bus to me (although I didn't go, I thought about it), was 100 miles away, and $45 to ride, and you had to pay for your meal.

This is a lie.
Yes they had free tshirts
To promote the union. "Free advertising" is more like it.
Yes they had a free meal
Some did. I don't see how you can call that a "bribe"
yes they had a free bus ride to and from the rally
This is true.

This isn't examples of "bribery" or "bullying". This is unions offering free transportation and lunch to their members and supporters - why is that a bad thing?

There is a reason why CG is at that stage in life on which she stands. I am not too concerned ever with what she posts. She has to read, not comprehend well, and loves to talk, talk, and talk.

It shows more conviction and interest when you pay for the T shirt and hot dog. Also, not all union members are supporters of many of the groups th erally was promoting. Yet, it was their dues that paid for it all. Is the union going to be fair and equal by paying for their other members to go to a Beck rally next time?

Let's see: union member is whining about "all I got was this lousy t-shirt of an effigy of bigreb being lynched" while Big Business spends hundreds of millions of dollars on lobbying.

Are you out of your mind, saveliberty?

It's a union we are talking about. One local teamsters group cannot force a single group without all of the teamsters group doing the same thing.
They have bylaws when they have a gathering all members must assemble.

To promote the union. "Free advertising" is more like it.

Is that how you want to spin it?:cuckoo: advertise to who?

Most union guys I know would be really pissed they had supported communist groups at a rally. Many would be upset to find out they paid for bus rides to hear Rev. Sharpton. More than a few would be ticked to know that money didn't go to help pay for retiree healthcare coverage.

If you dig, quite hard admittedly, you'll find union forums where members are complaining of being 'pushed' to attend the rally.

But, my point.... Joke was wrong - which is quite normal for Joke but it's nice to point out his errors.

I have already addressed this reply Union members were forced to attend not saying how many did attend but they were ordered. If you scroll back a page or two you will find the link and how I addressed that part.

You don't know anything about unions, that much is clear. There's no rule like that at all. Locals are mostly autonomous.

And your blog fails - no one was "forced" to go, that was a figure of speech. But believe what you want, if it helps you sleep at night.

Is that how you want to spin it?:cuckoo: advertise to who?
To everyone else their. To show unity and solidarity.

You've never noticed how union members all wear their colors at rallies?
You really know nothing about union politics.

These are union members. Aren't you guys the ones who complain they get paid too much?

"Free lunch" isn't a bribe if you make as much as conservatives claim union members do.

Incorrectly, of course. Once again, prove your statements (without using out of context clips from radio shows or rightwing blogs).
