Arm teachers ? Bla! Bunch of union wusses who will head for the hills like the Florida cops . Take matters into your own hands .

The answer is simple ! Handgun vending machines ! The ultimate in 2nd Amendment freedom. School under fire? Swipe your lunch card and our falls a semi automatic freedom fighter.

The funny thing is that I’m being sarcastic , but there are gun nuts here who think guns should be that easy to get .
1. Anyone who is allowed to teach kids is supposed to be a responsible adult. If licensed, there is no reason why they shouldn't arm up.

2. When I was 14 I used to, illegally, cross the toll road and collect the Quarters off the overflowing toll collectors. Then went to Howard johnson where they had a vending machine that sold child porn in paperback format. no pics, unless artist depictions of sex counts. Sally, 14 years old, does the mailman then visits her twenty something over sexed sister. What stays in the family ... incest in a Nuclear family. Stuff like that. Next to it was a vending machine that sold cigarettes.

Gun control states have better gun stats than gun nut states .

No way this Cruz guy gets a gun license or an AR In Massachusetts.

Please explain?

Under 21 you are limited to hunting rifles . And the local police take care of licensing and can deny someone for being “unsuitable “. For example , being a nut who’s had the cops called on him 30x

IF everyone had done their jobs in FL, this would never have happened either......without additional laws

How so? What could they have done ?

For starters, the local cops could have arrested him for making threats to shoot up the school. Yes, they can do that. In fact, I've said this on numerous other threads, it happens all the time and has thwarted many mass shootings. Do a search of 'kids arrested for threatening a school shooting' or whatever and you'll get 100s of hits
Here, I'll do it for you...... kids arrested for threatening to shoot up schools - Bing

They could have also arrested him for assault or domestic abuse.......... reasons for the cop visits, even when his mom was still alive and the boys were still living with her. Although the law may be different in FL or has changed.....but at one time, any call for domestic violence or similar call was made, someone had to go to jail. The 'victim' couldn't change their mind to not press charges, it was automatic. That would have stopped him from getting a license or a gun

The FBI could have followed up on the reports to them about his threats, behavior & potential for violence. They didn't hand it off to the field office that is standard procedure.

You’d think so . But this is gun nut Florida . If he was arrested as a kid , would that prevent him from a license?

Lol. Like arming all teachers is not stupid ?

Truth is the gunnuts here would never vote a law that could stop the Florida shooting . Hell, they’d vote to legalize Automatic weapons!

Tell me I’m wrong .

So tell us all......just what laws the left has put into place & still screaming for more have stopped any gun violence???

Really?

Then tell me why NH has a much lower murder rate than CA.

Who said 'ALL'?

My wife, now retired, is totally against any firearms in school.

My neighbor, a teacher for about 10 years, would love to be able to fight back, and joins me at the range a couple times a year.

Too early for a poll of teachers other than dumb online polls on RW and gunner sites Will. We should see a few real ones in next couple of weeks.

But my hunch is that at least 70% of them will view it as a colossally stupid idea.

'Colossally stupid idea': Trump's plan to arm teachers widely panned by experts

Why is it that after 911 we improved security and improved our intelligence capabilities, but time after time we can't seem to agree that the quickest way to protect our kids is to increase security and improve our prevention capabilities. They did it in airports, why not our schools???

I remember Obama saying during the Democratic Party debates that his primary concern wasn't to prevent another 911, but to improve our first-responders. Basically he was only concerned with mopping up the blood and eyeballs after the attack...not preventing attacks.

that other 30% are the ones that will be protecting the students.

Hopefully, it's enough

Sorry - but aside from bright red states like Texas (13% of their school districts already doing it) you'll never see it on a national level.

And Trump won't be telling them what to do in that regard. In the end, it'll be an individual district/ school board choice.

Texas teachers, officers buck Trump’s idea to arm teachers with guns
Bright red, like Ohio?

Guns In Schools Bill Passes Ohio House

Again - the Ohio House cannot tell an individual school district/ board what to do. It simply makes it legal to do so should they choose, and it is ONE person per your link - not 10 or 20% as Trump suggests. That'll never happen.

House Bill 8, which passed overwhelmingly out of the House Wednesday, says a school board could pick a school employee to carry a concealed weapon. It would also keep the name of the person carrying the weapon a secret.

Because NH is mostly trees and ski slopes . You really want to compare it with Cali and it’s metropolises ??!

More right wing intellectual dishonesty.

which means,,,,,they made it LEGAL for teachers, or other school employees to carry firearms on school grounds while school is in session.

and more states should follow that example

No, they made it legal for ONE PERSON in any given school to carry concealed. Again Will, the Texas legislature made it legal but it was adopted and approved by only 13% of their school districts.

Wish as you might, 10% of America's school teachers will not be packing no matter what congress does.

I agree...

I expect the number to be higher than 10%
