Problem with avatar

I uploaded a new picture as avatar, i use the cross button to adjust the position so my face will be visible, i click on ok and it still shows the same position where you dont see my face, only my upper body.

open the picture in some kind of paint program, (msPaint, Paint.net, photoshop, etc). Crop it to the right size, and then try to use it.
