The reality is, those 50 million abortions would have happened no matter what the law is. They were happening before Roe v. Wade.

The live birth rate in the USA didn't drop when abortions became legal after Roe v. Wade. This is the largest indicator of the number of abortions being performed before abortions were legalized. If there had been a substantial increase in the number of births being prevented by legalizing abortion, the live birth rate would have dropped. It didn't.

I note that the anti-women crowd here is still in denial that universal health care, maternity leave, subsidizing day care and other family oriented social assistance would decrease the number of abortions, even though the has been the result in every other social democracy in the world.
