Again, hogwash.

"no credit is worse than bad credit".

You must submit to usury to have a credit score.
In either a "capitalist" or "socialist" system (whichever you care to call it, it is the system of the usurer) most of you must submit to have a job, have a home, or have a a life.

The good news is that the LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST called out those people 2000 years ago and proposed a better way.

So sad that there are so many people who still willingly submit enslavement of the usurer, whether they call it "capitalism" or "socialism".

I'm a fellow believer of Jesus Christ myself.

Then please stop framing your discussion as to prescribed by the Christ hating usurer.
Peace be with you fellow Christian.

I actually enjoy reading the teachings of Jesus and implementing them in the way I live. And much of the way I think has been strengthened from his teachings.

One of his particular teachings that comes to mind is Matthew 25. Specifically the parable of the bags of gold (14-29). I'm sure you're probably familiar with it, but I'd encourage you to re-read it with this discussion in mind.

Peace be with you too.

While there are other choices and some may wish to "stay in the middle," for the sake of this poll pick the option with which you'd feel more comfortable or have the most affinity towards.

I'm just curious to see what the modern-day feelings toward these two terms are. If you're not familiar with them I'd kindly ask that you familiarize with what they stand for before voting. Thank you.

Now vote away!

Actually, one can't survive without the other. They are not mutually exclusive.

Capitalism is by far, the only system that allows for the maximum amount of freedom and liberty in the world.

Socialism has its place.......in a history book.

You don't think that this is a "capitalist" country, do you?

You are living in a country that mixes the two.

Ponder this... It includes both capitalism and socialism...

Right. We have a mixed economy.

And given our current struggle, each team intends to fix the issues by adding a little bit more of one of those two ideologies.

I vote present. Forced choice polls are ridiculous; since no pure economy has ever existed as "Capitalism" or "Socialism" this thread is a journey into absurdity. Absurdity because most who respond don't understand that all governed societies have mixed economies & those on the right will always vote - blindly - for Capitalism. Hence, it ain't a poll, its another exercise is putting forth the authors not so hidden agenda.

We'll put you down as voting for "socialist."

I've already put you down as stupid.

This question is merely a theoretical exercise with little or no real-world applicability. In the purest form, both economic systems have good points and bad points, and depending on what you believe can be equally beneficial or detrimental.

It's like asking, would you prefer to have a railraod spike driven through your left foot or a your right foot plunged into a pit of burning coals.

Alternatively, would you prefer a puppy or a kitten?

Neither,

I choose liberty.
Usurers like to set the "game" up as an either-or scenario.

"Liberty" is not possible without Capitalism.

Well I choose... I earn what I honestly earn, through labor. And you earn what you earn through labor.
None of the " I have a bunch of thugs imprison you because I have a lot of shiny rocks and get to take all of your earnings which you earned from honest labor" BS.

Simple as that.

Yawn...

Tell me sparky, you Chomskyites love to spew your idiocy about the nobility of labor, but what does labor actually do? If you go dig a hole in the desert, you have labored, but why should I be compelled to pay you for it? Because you want?

What you leftists cannot grasp is the concept of value. The notion that you must offer value in exchange for the value you demand.

Got to be one of the most stupid posts I've ever seen.

Hunter/gatherer societies had no concept of capitalism. So you're contention is that native Americans, African tribesmen, aborigines, etc ... had no "liberty?"

What an idiot

You mean savage capitalism or capitalism with reasonable regulation and justice and a good safety net- then I'll take socialism, because I know what it means. NOT communism, as socialism is ALWAYS democratic.

Nonsense, Communism is nothing but socialism taken to an extreme that required forcing on the people.

What an idiot

Hunter/gatherers lived in pure capitalism whether they knew it or not.

They had the freedom to hunt and gather food and supplies as they saw fit, and there wasn't a government to establish limits or regulations as to how much a single person could gather or how much had to be shared with the rest of the people.

So they had complete liberty, and their economic system would be classified as capitalism. Except their capital was food, animals, tools, objects they valued, ect..

Either only two Obama supporters voted in the poll, or there are some liars here.

Those that voted for Obama voted for Socialism.

WRONG ...
Their society more closely resembled socialism

I feel very blessed to live in a regulated capatlistic society. But trying to attach capatlism to hunter/gatherer societies is even more stupid THIS time.
