PC is actually another word for "strategic hypersensitivity deployed to put your target on the defensive and thereby control the conversation".

To summarise the article she seems to be calling for more tolerance of racism that is based on ignorance. I dont think that anybody would object to that. But it doesnt really negate the essential truth that this is a positive process.

I'm not quite sure of this, but I think it's possible that the PC zealots don't see their own behaviors. They seem genuinely perplexed that people would be annoyed about how they run around trying to control the language.

I could be wrong. They may know, and just feel they have to protect a strategy that has been so fabulously successful for them. If that's the case, we'll see more of these kinds of threads, as they try to hold on to their religion.

It's one thing to say we shouldn't call people blatantly racist names. You still have the right, but you will look like an asshole. Not saying something stupid is considered political correctness by the left. Most of us call it common sense and manners.

What has happened is that the left has decided to expand the definition and call you an asshole for supporting border security, being concerned about terrorism, or questioning any liberal policies. They treat people as if they said something horribly racist when they talk about things.

It's racist to say nanny government, welfare, oppose Obamacare, want border security, want refugees vetted, disagree with any minority for any reason, call terrorism what it is, or a host of other things.

It's the left that has expanded political incorrectness to mean anything not on their agenda. It's a tool used by many tyrants in the past to control the language of the people. It's a means of training them to accept only propaganda. People are ridiculed by media and others when they say anything that doesn't fit the narrative. When a person makes perfectly logical observations like how most terrorist attacks have been carried out by Muslims or how the crime is ridiculously high in Chicago and a few other cities, the person is attacked and made to feel wrong for stating the obvious. They want to truth to be whatever they say it is and not what people can figure out. So, if you notice that a lot of terrorists are Muslim, they tell you it's because you are Islamophobic and insist there is no problem with Muslims.

If you read about control tactics, such as those an abusive spouse might employ, you will see that the left is using these means of manipulation on a larger scale. It's to create doubt and make a person think there is something wrong with them. And people eventually turn on others who speak about the taboo subjects. I can't believe it works and yet it's been done forever. Libs get upset when some want to make it a crime to burn the flag but they applaud it when someone wants to shut down certain media or expand hate speech to include anything they don't want to hear. They think it's good if people are afraid to speak out against them for fear of backlash, humiliation or penalty of law.
