Not an intended deflection .
But I caught an episode on British TV this week from Olive Kitteridge , a US mini series from 2014 .

Utterly brilliant from every perspective .
Being honest and obviously badly wrong, I did not believe that the US was capable of this level of artistic brilliance .
I hope Odd Thomas is of the same high standard and that it is not a version of John Thomas -- see English based slang .

I did as well. I'd be grateful for a follow-up movie, but sequels usually aren't as good.

A follow up movie today would suck. Everyone would be race and gender swapped by no talent hacks.
