Let's see... 1974. I had been married for a year to my first wife. I was a Second Class in the Navy. I was very handsome and had a body that would make Charles Atlas drool with envy. It's all been down hill from there...

I started Kindergarten.

My ride was one of these, a little darker green. Not a very comfortable "make out" vehicle, although I made it work. Had speed, got it to 150 once, and it sounded good.

1973 Porsche 911 RS Carrera Lightweight

I was managing a nightclub in Amherst, Ma. and driving a 1973 Carrera RS, still my favorite car of any I've ever owned. Disco was about to kick in, the Vietnam war was over, women were on the pill, there weren't any venereal diseases you couldn't cure with a shot of penicillin and the drinking age had just been lowered to 18. Absolutely the perfect time to be young and single. God, what a party!!! (The only drawback were the clothes...I still shudder to think that I once owned a lime green three piece suit)

lotsa great memories from '74... dropped outta college... quit workin' for my old man... various odd jobs after that (driving a cab, dealin' weed, etc)... traveled around the Southern states... hooked up with my future first wife 'round about Christmas time...

I remember some great tunes from back then...

but all in all, it was a fairly lame year for popular music...
