Workers' Freedom: A departing Obama administration bureaucrat just made the forcible unionization of American workers a lot easier. When it comes to bullying, this president has a double standard.

To do something about kids in school getting shoved around, the White House sends the first lady onto the Ellen Show to bemoan the supposed "culture of bullying" in America.

But when it comes to those kids' hard-working fathers and mothers struggling for a paycheck amid 9.1% unemployment, President Obama is only too happy to see them bullied at the hands of labor thugs.

Wilma Liebman, who has worked as a lawyer for big labor- and union-coddling government agencies unceasingly since 1974, left behind quite a present for her benefactors Sunday as she ended her chairmanship of the National Labor Relations Board. Included in a series of pro-union decisions was the bureaucratic enactment of "Card Check" over the heads of Congress.

Card Check means that if union forces can get most employees within a workplace to sign a card requesting a unionization election, the opposite happens: A secret ballot of workers is actually prohibited, and the union automatically comes into being — even if most workers oppose being unionized.

The need for privacy in workers expressing their wishes on the exercise of their right to organize must itself be protected as a fundamental right. It is, without question, the only way to stop union intimidation and thuggery of millions of Americans.

As the National Restaurant Association — whose members provide livelihoods to millions — has aptly stated: "An employee's decision to join a union should be made in private, protected from any coercion by unions, employers or co-workers."

In essence, the NLRB ruling undemocratically passes liberal Democrats' deceitfully named "Employee Free Choice Act" into law. As Rep. John Kline, R-Minn., chairman of the House Education and Workforce Committee, has said in opposition to that bill:

"It is beyond me how one can possibly claim that a system whereby everyone — your employer, your union organizer and your co-workers — knows exactly how you vote on the issue of unionization gives an employee 'free choice.'"

No one would agree to ending voter privacy in elections for president, senators, congressmen, governors and mayors. In union organizing, the likelihood of threats and actual violence are far greater.

Kline now accuses the NLRB of "unloading a barrage of bureaucratic activism that will devastate employees and job creators."

We all remember the speech Barack Obama gave back in 2009 in front of a joint session of Congress during the Obamacare debate; this is the speech where Barack Obama tried to assure the American people that Obamacare would only cover people who were in this country legally.

This is the same speech in which Joe Wilson yelled “you lie” at the president after Barack Obama made this claim. The outrage from the left was swift and all encompassing; one Democrat went so far as to claim that Joe Wilson’s comment would lead to a resurgence of the KKK, and eventually Joe Wilson was rebuked for his actions by the Congress even though he had called the president shortly after the speech and apologized.

But while all of the attention during this episode was focused on whether or not this was the proper place for Joe Wilson to make his statement, nobody seemed to remember to ask the question ”is Joe Wilson right?” And that is a shame because it now appears as if Joe Wilson was right, even if he went about it the wrong way.

According to this article the Department of Health and Human Services has allotted nearly $30 million to special community health centers, and of that $30 million, $8.5 million will be used to target ”migrant farm workers.” We all know that the term “migrant farm workers” is a politically correct codename for illegal aliens hired by farm owners to pick vegetables in the field because this is one of those jobs that George W Bush quipped was one that Americans wouldn’t do.

And the HRSA is admitting that the immigration status of those seeking services will not be checked:


Health centers do not, as a matter of routine practice, ask about or collect data on citizenship or other matters not related to the treatment needs of the patients seeking health services at the center

The Program’s authorizing statute does not affirmatively address immigration status,” said Andrews. “Rather, it simply states that health centers are required to provide primary health care to all residents of the health center’s service area without regard for ability to pay

So immigration status will not be checked, and all residents of the area–legal and illegal–will gain access to the services provided, and because there are a large amount of illegal aliens doing these jobs it stands to reason that they will receive healthcare under this initiative in the Obamacare legislation.

Joe Wilson may have gone about it the wrong way, but in the end he was right. There are no protections–at least in this portion of the bill–which would ensure that illegal aliens aren’t qualified to receive free benefits under the Obamacare legislation.


I saw this as well and though that it was very interesting as I never thought about it this way but it was worth reposting.............

Lets not forget that LEGAL citizens are required to participate in the health care program or be subject to fines.
Correct me if Im wrong but Illegals not only will not be required to show ID but they will also not be subject o any penalties as well.
