If an illegal alien works in the US, are they violating two laws, one for being in the US and one for working?

The second law, and a few others would be broken if they present false documentation to gain employment. Particularly false SS cards and State ID's.

Hell, I used to get three or four a week who would come in asking for employment. I would have them fill out an application, make copies of their paperwork, run 'em through E-verify. If something came up suspicious, I would call the VCSO fraud section. They would usually call me back and ask that I set up a second interview with the person. The VCSO would wait outside and arrest them when they came out.....Some were actually prosecuted, most were turned over to INS (ICE) and deported......At least I can say I've got a few of those bastards under my belt. Although a lot of 'em were probably right back over here within weeks.

but this is about employers paying employees per our wage laws and holiday laws etc. Wicked? so I don't think it involves those giving fake SS cards or numbers because more than likely, those employers are not paying these illegals less than what the law requires, are they?

I'm talking about illegals who use false documentation to gain employment, It's a big problem here in Southern California. They can work for almost a year under the radar at regular pay, and only get found out by the IRS when it's time to start issuing Tax Paperwork. Just because they fill out a w2 and it's sent to the IRS, the IRS generally doesn't enter the verification for months......They are known as job hoppers, and they know how to buck the system. They know just when to quit, and go find employment elsewhere, using entirely different false documentation. New name, SS number, etc.

Since E-verify has come into existence, it's a lot less prolific as it used to be, but it still happens when employers don't use it.

the Law does not differentiate between laws for legals verses illegals...and it never has....for anything that I can think of....

if it is against the law to murder then it is against the law to murder an illegal person as well as a legal person....

if it is against the law to speed, then it is against the law to speed, whether an illegal or a legal....if it is against the law to pay an employee less than minimum wage then it is against the law to pay any employee, whether illegal or legal, less than minimum wage....

the law does not give an exception to employer's on our wage laws just because the employer hires an illegal, nor should it!

Workers' Freedom: A departing Obama administration bureaucrat just made the forcible unionization of American workers a lot easier. When it comes to bullying, this president has a double standard.

To do something about kids in school getting shoved around, the White House sends the first lady onto the Ellen Show to bemoan the supposed "culture of bullying" in America.

But when it comes to those kids' hard-working fathers and mothers struggling for a paycheck amid 9.1% unemployment, President Obama is only too happy to see them bullied at the hands of labor thugs.

Wilma Liebman, who has worked as a lawyer for big labor- and union-coddling government agencies unceasingly since 1974, left behind quite a present for her benefactors Sunday as she ended her chairmanship of the National Labor Relations Board. Included in a series of pro-union decisions was the bureaucratic enactment of "Card Check" over the heads of Congress.

Card Check means that if union forces can get most employees within a workplace to sign a card requesting a unionization election, the opposite happens: A secret ballot of workers is actually prohibited, and the union automatically comes into being — even if most workers oppose being unionized.

The need for privacy in workers expressing their wishes on the exercise of their right to organize must itself be protected as a fundamental right. It is, without question, the only way to stop union intimidation and thuggery of millions of Americans.

As the National Restaurant Association — whose members provide livelihoods to millions — has aptly stated: "An employee's decision to join a union should be made in private, protected from any coercion by unions, employers or co-workers."

In essence, the NLRB ruling undemocratically passes liberal Democrats' deceitfully named "Employee Free Choice Act" into law. As Rep. John Kline, R-Minn., chairman of the House Education and Workforce Committee, has said in opposition to that bill:

"It is beyond me how one can possibly claim that a system whereby everyone — your employer, your union organizer and your co-workers — knows exactly how you vote on the issue of unionization gives an employee 'free choice.'"

No one would agree to ending voter privacy in elections for president, senators, congressmen, governors and mayors. In union organizing, the likelihood of threats and actual violence are far greater.

Kline now accuses the NLRB of "unloading a barrage of bureaucratic activism that will devastate employees and job creators."
