Not a single acre, not a single square foot of private or personal property has been used to change publicly owned and maintained property into the protective category of National Monument. National Monument is a designation given to public property. They are lands that have never been privately owned or owned by individual states.

Public lands such as BLM lands by law are available for commercial interest such as mining and grazing. Each land designation allows for various uses and commercial interests are able to demand and acquire rights to the public lands that degrade them for other future uses. Protection of those lands requires huge expenses in legal fees by the government as they challenge the commercial interest who pack the halls of Congress with lobbyists. Because the lobbyist and commercial interest will often win despite the efforts of the government to protect the lands, the Congress decided over 110 years ago to give the Executive Branch an option to bypassing the lobbyist and commercial interest by simply taking sections of threatened land off the table for exploitation,

You should be able to promote your political ideas on this topic without relying on lies and misinformation. Designating lands as National Monuments rescues them from exploitation from extraction industries and preserves them for future generations to enjoy as natural wonders and non-invasive uses that give long term uses to the public instead of short term profits and permission to destroy the long term benefits to short term profits for a select few.

Name one acre of private land that has been seized by the federal government to create a National Monument. One example, one acre. You can not because the premise and claim of the thread is a lie.

This is what happens , Let say you own a mom and pop shop on the corner of a main street in the city of whereever.........................

Ok so a college is two blocks down , one day the college decides it wants that corner where the mom and pop shop sit ( they own it, it's their property, their piece of land ).

The college takes it court saying why they want and why they have a right to it , the College wins , mom and pop shop are forced out. I believe it's called Eminent Domain...... there are dozens of loop holes that allow big wig companies to take your home, the land you live on .

National Monument is a designation that has preservation and protection as a specific priority and use. Unlike other designations such as National Park, National Forest, Bureau of Land Management, etc., the National Monument designation does not require a great deal of expense to maintain and operate. Simple preservation through enforcement and minimal maintenance are legally and technically all that is required. Expanding uses for tourism can be added or maintained and is done so with input from local residents and businesses. Current tourist attractions can be maintained. For example, a road or path leading a scenic view or other tourist attraction or attractions can be invested in by the government to help support local businesses in the area.

Everything the federal government does is self-serving… The American people rarely have a say if ever.
