Obama in serious trouble--Sestak confirms WH offer to drop out of Senate race

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Looks like someone's PISSED OFF that his Lord, Messiah and Savior has embroiled himself in a controversy that is getting worse and worse by the day. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha....

and in your infinte ignorance...you seem to forget all of the pogroms you fucking ass clowns perpetrated on the Republicans the last few years....so fuck YOU and your meaningless dares....I hope they DO put these people in front of an investigatory panel and get them all to perjur themselves including Obama!!!!....just to piss you off!!!! I want to see the complete meltdown of the tingly legged Obama crowd..

First of all, I have stated many times on these boards, that while I felt Bush was an incompetent buffoon, I was disgusted by the endless badgering of his administration over tiny little minutiae.

That's why I don't watch any of the left-wing talking heads anymore.

That being said..

If you want to play the "who started the partisan bullshit badgering" game, we'll have to go back one more administration.

The Republicans relentless attack on the Clinton administration started the whole ball rolling. Their behavior was despicable in that regard. From Whitewater, to rape charges about what's-her-face, to Vince Foster, ending with Monica Lewinsky. Hell, you all even went after Hillary with the same head of steam after Clinton was out of office.

Compared to the almost constant congressional "special investigations" into every charge the Republican smear-machine could think of, the criticism of the Bush administration was NOTHING.

So, PLEASE, don't even bother trying the "but they did it first" approach, because YOU did it first, and you're still doing it.

Spare me your 2nd grade sandbox excuses.....Obama promised a new way of government, transparency, honesty and integrity...we got Bush in black face.....

Seeing Robert Gibbs all but plead the 5th in today's press briefing was rather stunning in both its obvious indications, as well as implications...

_____

A reporter asked Gibbs why he wouldn’t discuss the offer over many months, even as the administration contended that nothing inappropriate had taken place. “I’d have to ask counsel for a better answer,” Gibbs said.

Gibbs: 'I'd refer you to the memo' | POLITICO 44

As predicted, the Sestak story is not going away, but rather growing as a situation seemingly layered upon with the stench of cover-up.

From today...

____

The Obama White House continued to box itself into a corner on the scandal surrounding Joe Sestak and the attempt to push him out of the Democratic primary in Pennsylvania. Robert Gibbs denied yesterday that the unpaid position offered the former admiral was on the Presidential Intelligence Advisory Board (PIAB), but refused to specify what position Bill Clinton offered Sestak on behalf of Barack Obama. At stake was the argument offered by White House counsel Robert Bauer that no laws had been broken because the offer did not involve a job with a salary:

Well, where exactly would they have put Sestak, then? The only other standing presidential advisory board is on the economy, the President’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board (PERAB) headed by Paul Volcker. However, like the PIAB, the PERAB also explicitly requires members to be from “outside the governmentas well as having experience in economic issues. Given that the PERAB has a much lower profile than the PIAB and is well outside of Sestak’s competence, it seems extremely unlikely that Obama would have offered Sestak a PERAB position — and that Sestak would have seen that as a good trade for ending his political career in Congress.

Happily for the Obama Administration, The Biggest Environmental Disaster in US History is creating a larger stench, and distraction.

as loathe as I am to say this, P-BO has 3 cut outs if they can't prove that he specifically ordered this. Slick Willie, David Axelrod and Rahm Emmanuel. Those three will go to prison first.

But if they can prove that he gave direct orders to do this, we will have another impeachment trial before his term is out.

So? Will this be Obama's WATERGATE?

In my mind? This is LARGER. If Obama cannot Control his people? *I* Think they'll spill the beans versus going down for HIM. I don't think they have the courage.

T, for this to be like Watergate, Obama's approval rating would have to decline to around 24 percent.

With the unemployment rate being what it is? With the continuation of Carter Part Deux? I don't think it'll take that much.

we shall see. i don't see his approval rating dipping below the mid 40's.

I do...but bear in mind? The 'Employment figures' will JUMP again coming soon...and it will be due to the CENSUS temp workers.

Watch for it. And it will be touted as a JUMP...but the reasons will be muted.

and don't forget government layoffs. The St. Paul School District is looking at laying off 1600 teachers for the summer of course... but many they don't expect to bring back, including tenured positions and many others they're forcing into early retirement. They hope to save 27 million.

Also, when the state bailouts don't show up, state and municipal employees will begin to be laid off. THEN those numbers will flyyyyyyyyy...

Just consider as well how betrayed they're going to feel after years of SEIU and the other government unions feeding them the lie of 'good paying jobs for life' comes to an end in a puff of budget balancing.

It's going to be real ugly come 2012 and 2014 for city, county and state elections I think. 2010 is just going to be the federal level for now. Then trickle down political hell will break loose.

I think the jump in unemployment will be blamed on the oil spill and BP. Standard operating procedure for the blame game crowd.

ROFL.

The figures were already out when you posted this. Trying to beat people to the punch by prematurely dismissing success and making it seem like a "prediction".

So predictable. How utterly Rush Limbaugh of you.

Largest increase in jobs since 1983, by the way, people. Unemployment just fell to 9.5%.

Hey, how'd Rush's predictions that we would be in a full-scale Depression by now work out anyway? Oh, that's right...

Lets get real Vast....

You see, during the early years of the Clinton Administration, the way we measure unemployment changed. Discouraged workers – those waiting out the bad times – and the chronically unemployed – those who haven’t held a job in the past year – were dropped from the list.

Also, the underemployed were no longer counted. That means those with part-time work who wanted or needed to work full-time, couldn’t find better jobs. They might be paying the interest on their credit cards working nights at Denny’s, but they still need more work, and can’t find it.

Here’ what the new numbers mean to you and an easy way you can protect your portfolio from a prolonged economic downturn…

Same Unemployed, Three Different Numbers

All these categories of unemployed mentioned above were erased from the official unemployment rate – which the Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) calls the U-3 rate. The BLS still uses a broader categorization of rates, which attempts to incorporate the underemployed workers back into the equation.

That rate? It’s called the U-6, and it stands at 16.4%.
