Well it's jobs anyway, then the economy, then healthcare. Despite a "brazilian" healthcare speeches by President Obama, and a faithful MSM, Americans just don't consider it that big a deal. The Democrat Party better wake up before November or... well...

Americans Say Jobs Top Problem Now, Deficit in Future

Q. Most important problem facing the country today?

Unemployment now stands alone as the top issue in Gallup's latest update on the most important problem facing the country. Thirty-one percent of Americans mention jobs or unemployment, significantly more than say the economy in general (24%), healthcare (20%), or dissatisfaction with government (10%).

The economy had ranked No. 1 in Gallup's monthly most important problem measure since February 2008, when it overtook the Iraq war. The war in Iraq had been the top issue (or tied for the top) each month since April 2004. Thus, unemployment's position at the top of the list marks the first time in six years that something other than Iraq or the economy in general has led Americans' list of national concerns.

Q. Most important problem facing the United States in 25 years?

The federal budget deficit is mentioned most often in this regard, by 14% of Americans, slightly more than say the economy in general (11%) and the environment (11%).

This is the first time the federal budget deficit has topped the list of future problems, and indeed the first time it has exceeded 5% mentions. That likely reflects public concern over increased federal spending and expanding budget deficits.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

Hot Air Blog Archive Brown: An entire year has gone to waste

Scott Brown takes a bit of a political risk today by picking up the GOP standard in the response to Barack Obama’s weekly Presidential address, but he delivers a scathing assessment of the Democratic machinations to pass ObamaCare. He offers some “advice from a newcomer” to his colleagues on Capitol Hill, which is to listen to the will of the people rather than the commands of the far-Left Democratic leadership.

Video and transcript available at the last link via Hot Air.

If 2008 was the year of "Anyone but Bush!" then come November, the American people will take a hard look at the House and Senate and proclaim 2010 the yaer of "anyone else!". Which in a way is really sad. I hate to see Harry Reid go. With Reid out of power there will only be two people working their butts off to destroy the Democrats, Pelosi and Obama. Now if only there were someone, anyone in the Republican Party that raised above the political enthusiam of "meh". Oh well, so long as Congress stays tied up in knots the the POTUS is useless our freedoms are secure. Hmmm. Maybe we should keep things just the way they are?

But he promised a laser like focus on jobs jobs jobs?
Oh that was last week.

Obama is obsessed with passing health care. He sees his presidency in the balance. Of course if it passes it will be so bad his presidency is dead. If it doesnt pass it will be dead. A win-win for the public.
I imagine him Nixon-like traipsing through the white house at night, cigarette in one hand, MD20-20 in the other yelling for Rahm to bully those SOBs into passing this thing.

When job losses were being clocked under Bush so many of you just called it whining to mention it.

Why are you now concerned about the jobless?

Why are you now concerned about the jobless?

Under Bush the jobless rate was about 6%.
Under Obama the jobless rate is about 10%. And that's if you believe the figures.
See the difference?

Why was joblessness not important when it was growing under Bush but is now a BIG deal to you when its abating under Obama?

Why did the right mock anyone who showed concern for the growing problem?

Please show where anyone "mocked" anyone showing concern.
It is a big deal because the rate is twice what it was under Bush and because it is not abating at all.

No you taintwallow, Bush and team crashed the economy. Remember when Bush stood in front of the entire world and said "if we done bail out the banks the economy will collapse"?

The economy tanked and it was on Bush's watch.

Obama came into office with a HUGE downturn in progress. You see the economy does not turn on a dime. Remember when all those years you fought to claim Bush inherited a mild recession?

Now why is it you refuse to acknowledge that Obama inherited a HUGE economic mess from Bush and has made strides in this economy and all the experts say the stimulus worked?
