Obama Administration created more jobs in one year than Republicans created in eight

CBO finds 3.7M jobs created by stimulus - The Hill's On The Money

Imagine that!

Republicans took over a strong economy with a budget surplus and only managed to create 1 million jobs while they were in power.

Obama took over in the worst recession in 70 years and created 3 million jobs

A report by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office shows the Recovery Act has increased the number of workers by between 1.2 million and 2.8 million. The CBO also projects that 3.7 million jobs could be attributed to the stimulus by the end of September.

Troll post of the day.

PolitiFact Ohio | Sherrod Brown touts job growth during Clinton presidency vs. Bush?s jobs record

Number of jobs as of January, 1993, a week before Clinton took office: 109.725 million.
Number of jobs as of Jan. 2001, a week before Clinton left office: 132.469 million
Net Gain under Clinton: 22.7 million jobs.

Now for Bush, who succeeded Clinton in the White House. As already noted, the nation had 132.469 million jobs as he was taking office.

Number of jobs on Jan. 12, 2009, a week before Bush left office: 133.549 million.
Net gain under Bush: 1.08 million jobs.

1.08 million jobs in EIGHT YEARS !

And the Republicans claim they can do a better job than the Democrats???

AND Obama has done it in a recession, which Bush never had to deal with.

What? Are you high? Jeeze Louise. Bush inherited the Tech bubble collapse, a real estate market collapse, 9/11 and the market crash afterwards.

And no, I am not blaming that on Clinton.... so don't go there.

Exactly what I was trying to point out to him but he continually ignored.

Obama had an agenda to create jobs as there was 10% unempoloyment.

Bush did not have that agenda as the numbers never called for it.

Too many look to THEIR Party or government for the solution, that is our problem, not the solution. The solution is for the government to allow the economy to correct itself but that is painful and few want that if it did only last a short time, they had rather embrace their partee'.

True,

Sadly, however, people like RW see numbers and starts to brag at how government intervention is doing great things for the economy..

When, in fact, if you apply a little logic, one will see that government intervention does nothing but allow politicians to blame the other party....knowing dam well that neither party can truly do what they claim they can do..

Unless, of course, they take over private industry.

Yep, government intervention usually creates unintended consequences and most of the time, they are negative consequences.

Complete and utter nonsense. The CBO is required to use the assumptions provided by Congress and the Administration.

The Obama Administration has declared that one dollar of government spending has a 1.5X multiplier on the economy. This is false. The historical rate for spending on real infrastructure projects would be .8. IOW, a dollar taken away from the private sector and spent by the government on real projects yields only 80 cents of economic benefit. Given that most of the stimulus went into unemployment benefits and bailing out state and local government (must preserve those bloated union payrolls and pensions!), the multiplier is far lower than .8.

The real impact is demonstrated in the overall employment and unemployment figures. Less people are employed now. When Obama took office, total Employed was 142M. At the end of July 2010, that figure was 139M. 3M less employed people in 18 months. Just to keep up with population growth, the economy would have to add 130K jobs per month, so adjusted for such growth, we are actually another 2.3M jobs in the whole.

Obamanomics is a massive job killer and an Epic Fail.

I'm afraid Bush did have an agenda

He sold his tax cuts on the resulting economic boost and trickle down jobs.
He borrowed money to pay for his tax cuts added $5 trillion to the deficit and managed to create an economy that only added 1 million jobs

Obama added 3 million jobs during a recession :clap2:

I again say...

Obama added 3 million jobs (well, sort of but still had a loss of about that same number)....but at the cost of 166K per job that yeilded less than 50K income per job holder and he did it with 15% of the people needing a job.

Bush's tax cuts put more money in the pockets of the consumer and despite the loss of millions of dot com jobs, an attack on 9-11, the loss of a million jobs due to the natural cycle recession that began in 2007 first Q, and the credit crunch that cost even more jobs that was BOTH party's fault...he still netted a positive 1 million jobs.

Funny as it may seem RW...the numbers you are boasting actually make the GOP policies look alot dam better than Obama's policies.

GOP....Consumer had more money to spend and unemploymnent never jumped.
DEM....unemployment rose regardless and the consumer has less to spend....AND...it cost us a trillion dollars of borrowed moiney to get there.

Thanks for confirming what I already knew.

oops....
Stimulus Costs $27b More Than Original Pricetag
President Barack Obama's massive stimulus measure has created or saved as many as 3.3 million jobs and continues to boost economic growth in the second half of 2010, but it's come at a higher pricetag than originally billed.

It goes on to state.....

The analysis also suggests, however, that most of the bang the still-lagging economy is going to get for its stimulus buck has already occurred. About 70 percent of the measure's cost will have been incurred by the end of next month, the report said, and its effects on jobs and economic growth are expected to dwindle in the second half of the year and gradually disappear starting in 2011.

So the reports giveth credit and taketh away, it will DWINDLE, as in, these jobs are an illusion, as in not permanent and came at a pricetag close to a trillion fucking dollars in the process!

See how easily you are fooled by spin?

You must be quite embarrased right now.

What is the spin?

Republicans are claiming they would do better in creating jobs than Obama is doing. The record shows they managed to create a measly 1.08 million jobs over eight years.

They are proposing the same policies they used before....why should we expect better results?

What do you do? Not read other posts?
I will lay it out for you.

Clinton was creditied with the dot com jobs....they were millions...and not real jobs
Bush was debited with the loss of the dot com jobs...not policy fault...dot com bubble burst
Bush did not have a "job creation" agenda.
Yet despite millions dot com jobs lost, he netted out over 1 million jobs gained without the need or policy to create jobs. We had normal unemployment

Obama spent a trillion dollars tro create 3 million jobs....estimate is 166K for a 50K job.

Creating jobs at a cost to the taxpayer of 166K per job and a net loss to the taxpayer of 110K per job when you have 10% unemployment is not difficult to do.
A monkey can do it.

And unemployment barely budged.

You believed trhe spin of the numbers.

Bush didn't have a policy to create jobs? So when he was advocating for his budget busting tax cuts, such as here, in February 2001:

Tax relief is right, and tax relief is urgent. The long economic expansion that began almost 10 years ago is faltering. Lower interest rates will eventually help, but we cannot assume they will do the job all by themselves.

Forty years ago, and then 20 years ago, two presidents, one Democrat, one Republican, John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan, advocated tax cuts to, in President Kennedy's words, "get this country moving again."

They knew then what we must do now: To create economic growth and opportunity, we must put money back into the hands of the people who buy goods and create jobs.

...I guess he was just kidding?

I can't let that slide... FDR and Hoover were worse. Obama is a baby version of FDR only because he is still working on his first term. Bush was a very bad president as well, as were many others. Bush was the Hoover imo to Obama.
