Absolutely not. But I am glad it did and that asshole is unemployed.

I have no idea how large a settlement could be involved, but the officer clearly appears to be in the wrong.

The amount will depend on how offended with the cop's action the jury is, which will depend entirely on the plaintiff lawyer's presentation. A punitive award is based on nothing but how much punishment a jury feels is appropriate, which can be very little -- or in the millions.

It all depends on the lawyer.
