Climate Change Researchers: Not all Expertise is Equal - Tech Talk - CBS News

Climate change skeptics often argue that the science is still open to question and that researchers need to carry out further study. However, a new paper in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences finds that experts in the field share a "striking agreement" with the conclusions of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

The study finds that the expertise and prominence of climate researchers convinced by the evidence of climate change "vastly overshadows that of the climate change skeptics and contrarians."

of course it does

i'll not take the low road and point out that just because billions of flies think shit tastes great, it's not going to be served for dinner at my house.

but i really want to

...but if you wanted to know the quality of shit, you'd have to ask a fly, not a lady bug!

i don't spend a lot of time querying insects.

how has your experience with it been?

Don't seem to spend much time on the logic of the topic either.

The ability of CO2 and other GHGs to absorb infra-red radiation is well-documented.

The concentrations of those gases, including some more potent than CO2 and not found in nature, have been going up since the advent of the Industrial Revolution.

Therefore, if the trend continues, a period of warming is inevitable.

Chew on THAT for a while and get back to me.

How about some cites for those quotes. Anybody can type up damning evidence, when they don't have to prove it.

Careful what you ask for socko.....

Was that so difficult, son? If you did that in the first place, maybe you wouldn't have the reputation for being one of the board's biggest bullshitters.

Yeah right socko, now care to address the point? Nice try though, but I am not your dance partner pal....

All of them I posted stated at one tome or another point blank said stated or implied something that shows a serious lack of truth about the science.... So go take a flying leap you fraud...

This is going to bite the PNAS right in the ass. They are well deserving of it as well.

This is what PNAS said,

97–98% of the climate researchers most actively publishing in the field support the tenets of ACC [Anthropogenic Climate Change] outlined by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and (ii) the relative climate expertise and scientific prominence of the researchers unconvinced of ACC are substantially below that of the convinced researchers.

I put the relevant term in boldface for our reading impaired.

I find it interesting that they used the word tenet as their term.

The definition of tenet from the Collins dictionary

tenet [ˈtɛnɪt ˈtiːnɪt]
n
a belief, opinion, or dogma
[from Latin, literally: he (it) holds, from tenēre to hold]
Collins English Dictionary – Complete and Unabridged © HarperCollins Publishers 1991, 1994, 1998, 2000, 2003

Then we look up the definition of dogma...and what do we find...
dog·ma (dôgm, dg-)
n. pl. dog·mas or dog·ma·ta (-m-t)
1. A doctrine or a corpus of doctrines relating to matters such as morality and faith, set forth in an authoritative manner by a church.
2. An authoritative principle, belief, or statement of ideas or opinion, especially one considered to be absolutely true. See Synonyms at doctrine.
3. A principle or belief or a group of them: "The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present" (Abraham Lincoln).

So there you have it folks...The Warmers have admitted publicly that AGW is a religion!

NO they haven't. Tenet can be used in a non-religious sense, so your analysis is pure BS.
