"Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) on Tuesday called on House Republicans to expel Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) and defeat his motion to oust Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) from his post. In a scathing op-ed published in The Washington Post, Gingrich attacked the Florida Republican as “anti-Republican” and said Gaetz was engaging in “childish behavior” and “has become actively destructive to the conservative movement.”
Gingrich ripped Gaetz for what he described as egocentric behavior and for distracting from issues that could be damaging to Democrats. Gingrich added that Gaetz was in violation of a House Republican Conference rule that says a motion to vacate “should only be available with the agreement of the Republican Conference so as to not allow Democrats to choose the Speaker.” Gingrich even invoked former Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) recent criticism of Gaetz in which she said Gaetz had no sway in the conference “except to get on TV and to raise money on the internet.”
Now to further illustrate just how much in disarray the Dems are; Newt comes out and calls Matt Gaetz and the other few Republicans who voted with Democrats to oust McCarthy, traitors....Dems are totally on their heels after having the ouster of McCarthy, which is why they have forced Newt to come out and attack other Republicans....the Dems are falling right into their trap....But seriously, it is going to be funny (AND PREDICTABLE) to see MAGA world IMMEDIATELY turn against Newt and call him a RINO now...what makes it so funny is, this current iteration of Republicanism would never exist if it wasn't for Newt Gingrich...Matt Gaetz basically being a Congress troll (as MTG and Lauren Boebert) learned this from Newt..which is why its funny to see Newt mad at Matt Gaetz for what he himself did, a lot.....
Because before the Matt Gaetz, the Boeberts, the Trumps, before all the goofy ass trolling just to "own the libs"; there was Newt Gingrich, who started all of it... And after he left Congress in disgrace, who kept him relevant? Yall did....why? Because he fed you the depravity yall craved....Again, Newt gave birth to everything you folks now hold dear....manufactured culture war grievances, trolling, and bullshit investigations that lead nowhere.....He created yall essentially.....all Trump did was adopt the style and ran with it...repeated what he heard Rush say on AM radio and what he saw Newt say on Fox......and since the natural trajectory of all of this is to be more and more depraved than the last guy, it was inevitable that folks will now call Newt the establishment......in 10 or more years, folks will call Trump the establishment too, when it turns out, he wasn't willing to be depraved enough.....and this is proof that Dems are disarray I guess...
