Nobody including the president seems to want to talk about the loss of 2 Navy Seals in the Arabian sea on Jan. 11. According to WAPO, the Seals were engaged in a mission to investigate a ship or a boat that might have been carrying illegal contraband bound for Iran. Details are scarce but "unnamed military sources" claim the Seals were attempting to board a suspected ship but one of them "slipped" and fell into the sea and the other Seal went after him and was lost. Does anybody buy this lame account? Seals are in their element in the sea. It's what they are trained for. "Investigative reporters" in the mainstream media don't seem interested in the details of the mission or the identity of the ship. The bodies haven't been recovered but the Seals are presumed dead. Case closed.

Very sad situation :(.... more here

In Marcus Luttrell's account (Lone Survivor) of a failed Seal mission in Afghanistan he offers an opinion of what the hell Seals are doing in a in a patrol in the Afghanistan mountains. Fair enough but the evolution of the WW2 UDT is still based in their training to deal with hypothermia and a comfort with the hostile environment of the sea. Don't try to tell me that a Seal who allegedly fell off a ladder into the sea was not able to deal with it. Somethin ain't right.
