Nato warns of all-out war with Russia in next 20 years.

Civilians must prepare for all-out war with Russia in the next 20 years, a top Nato military official has warned.

While armed forces are primed for the outbreak of war, private citizens need to be ready for a conflict that would require wholesale change in their lives, Adml Rob Bauer said on Thursday.

Large numbers of civilians will need to be mobilised in case of the outbreak of war and governments should put in place systems to manage the process, Adml Bauer told reporters after a meeting of Nato defence chiefs in Brussels.

“We have to realise it’s not a given that we are in peace. And that’s why we [Nato forces] are preparing for a conflict with Russia.

“But the discussion is much wider. It is also the industrial base and also the people that have to understand they play a role.”

Adml Bauer, a Dutch naval officer who is chairman of Nato’s Military Committee, praised Sweden for asking all of its citizens to brace for war ahead of the country formally joining the alliance.

Stockholm’s move, announced earlier this month, has led to a surge in volunteers for the country’s civil defence organisation and a spike in sales of torches and battery-powered radios.

I expect the war between NATO and russia/iran to take place in the middle east not europe

I wouldn't worry about this too much, Europe...

After all, Russia has the Second-Best Army in Ukraine...

Unlike times-past when they could at least PRETEND that they were advancing communism-socialism...

Today, Russia stands for nothing but its own interests... an open display of what it's all been about all along...

Their recruiting pool sucks... their officer corp sucks... their noncoms suck... their logistics suck... and much of their gear sucks...

Their Navy is a joke... hell, even the near-landlocked Ukrainians have dealt the Black Sea Fleet its own Port Arthur ala 1905... :auiqs.jpg:

These aren't the pliable Russian peasants of 1917 or 1941... these are the educated, spoiled, worldly Russian kids of 2024...

And they don't want anything to do with their Fearless Leader's bull$hit war on their Ukrainian brethren...

So Pootie keeps throwing mercenaries and convicts and yellow-skinned orientals into the meat-grinder...

If the EU gets its $hit together over the next couple of years they aren't going to have to worry about the idiot Russians.

I think all this hype of war with NATO going to war with Russia is questionable, is this propaganda or truth? Propaganda to get money and tax dollars or is it actually truth?

You know I have been watching a lot of interviews with Putin... just to get a point of view other than that of the US and NATO. I will say I do believe some of what he says. I have started to change my mind about Russia after watching the interviews. In politics I generally don't like to change my mind because once you take a stance you should stick to it... but in light of what I have learned from watching a lot of interviews with Putin I can't keep my same viewpoint I had. I am not saying I support Putin and believe everything Putin says, just like I don't believe everything I hear from the US and NATO point of view. I believe the truth lies somewhere at a half way point between what Putin says and what the US and NATO says.

I do think Putin is probably right that the Europe and NATO exaggerates the threat of Nuclear war with Russia than there actually is, propaganda, so they get support with tax dollars to continue the war in the Ukraine.

I will say after watching the interviews with Putin I do understand Russia a lot better and I do think there is a lot of propaganda to portray Russia as more of a threat to the US than it actually is.

... On the other hand I don't think I believe everything Putin says about Ukraine... and I can't say I support Russia going to war with Ukraine either.

I do think that China and when the USSR existed there was a lot of propaganda to make these countries to appear as more evil empires then they actually were. Capitalism had to appear superior to Communism and Socialism. The agenda had to be to at least fool the American people into thinking that as true. It helps to portray both Communist countries as evil in order to justify that Capitalism is superior.

I do also believe more of Putin's point of view about that journalist that was accused of spying by Russia. I wouldn't be surprised if he actually was spying. It wouldn't be the first time in US history that the CIA has persuaded reporters and business men to be spy's as a side job. I just think of the movie "The Courier".

I do want to reiterate that I take more of neutral stance. Weather war will break out between NATO and Russia... I am very skeptical if this is just propaganda published to achieve some financial and political goal or if it is the actual truth.

Well at least you have an open mind.

Progress is impossible without change; and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.

Reality check for you, won't be that long before your third Reich party is over.

thats good old NATO always starting wars with other countries.

There's no possibility of Russia challenging a Nato country. That would be an escalation far beyond the established rules.

It has to be understood that Russia has no interest in expanding its territory, past what is necessary to establish border security against US led aggression.
Whatever you say, Ivan.
