NAACP and Michelle Obama blasted by Peterson

Let 'em clean up their own black house (NBPP) as they're wanting the tea party to and then they might have some credibility.

Don't use that as an excuse to not do the right thing on your end though ;)

On an individual basis? No. But on a group basis? Yes. That's some bullshit. Would be like the Islamic council coming out and demanding that the Pope publicly denounce Christian terror groups. The freaking nerve......

LOS ANGELES, July 14 /Standard Newswire/ -- Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson (photo), Founder and President of BOND Action, is repudiating the NAACP (National Association for The Advancement of Colored People) for passing a resolution condemning members of the conservative Tea Party movement as "racists." The NAACP is charging Tea Party members with using "racial epithets" and accusing them of engaging in "explicitly racist behavior." Rev. Peterson is calling the NAACP's claims "baseless" and is blasting First Lady Michelle Obama for appearing as the keynote speaker at their annual convention. The following is Rev. Peterson's statement:

"This resolution is a politically motivated attack by the NAACP designed to smear, intimidate, and derail a great conservative grass roots movement. Where's the NAACP's resolution condemning the New Black Panther Party and its members for advocating the killing of 'white crackers' and 'white babies'? Where's their proof of 'racist' Tea Party behavior? This is the height of hypocrisy.

"The NAACP is a racist and bigoted group. And shame on Michelle Obama for embracing their racist platform. Instead of condemning this hateful resolution and rebuking the organization, she encouraged them to 'increase their intensity.' This is pure wickedness.

"Barack Obama came to divide and the first lady and members of his administration are carrying out his radical socialist agenda. I encourage conservative white Americans to stand strong and not be intimidated by name-calling and accusations of 'racism.'

He probably should have left out the "white Americans" part because that's all anyone will pay attention to.

He should have said "All Americans" instead.

I've no idea who peterson is but I'm guessing he's black because for some reason many racists think citing a black racist cancels out or camoflauges their own racism.

You're the non-sequitur queen and what is so sad is you're too stoopid to realize why.

CirlceJerk, I have a $100 bill that says you don't even know what non-sequitur means. I have beat you over the head with logic and facts in so many threads that it has became monotonous to me. But, I will give it another try

non se·qui·tur
/nɒn ˈsɛkwɪtər, -ˌtʊər; Lat. noʊn ˈsɛkwɪˌtʊər/ Show Spelled[non sek-wi-ter, -toor; Lat. nohn se-kwi-toor] Show IPA
–noun
1.
Logic . an inference or a conclusion that does not follow from the premises.
2.
a statement containing an illogical conclusion.

Now let's examine my previous statement and see if we can deduce how you came to classify it as a non sequitar

And many folks think that racism towards whit people is nothing more than racial pride.

Ok, now let's start with definition 1. Did I deviate from the premises? Well seeings as how you made a statement about white people which I responded to, well the answer is obviously no.

So on to number two. Did I come to an illogical conclusion? Well, seeings as how groups such as La Raza and Black Panthers, both old and new; just to name a few, preach EXACTLY what I stated well then the answer obviously is no, I did NOT draw an illogical conclusion.

Which leads us to this. You sir add nothing of value to any conversations and should never EVER questions another person's contributions.

Why do they still go by NAACP? In the world of PC-ness that has engulfed this country, you'd think they would have changed it NAAAAP.

Never heard of the guy.

doesn't matter

what do you think of his comments? right, wrong...

I think just about anyone who can blast away at Barack or Michelle Obama these days will get a huge writeup by the right wing media and then have had their 15 minutes of fame.

Because it is a ok for them to call each other coloreds, *******, coons, silver backs, porch monkeys, jiggaboohs, or whatever. It is also ok for them to call us crackers, whitey, white devils, etc etc

Got it? Good

See what I mean??

I read the NAACP resolution and I am not bothered by it at all. I feel that some of it is off base but the part where they call on tea partiers to denounce any racially themed signage and where they ask the tea party to publicly state they dont support racial hate groups is a great suggestion...and i'm going to do as they ask.

As I stated earlier in the thread, I have no problem with that, I simply think that the NAACP should do the same thing... hell, we should all do it regularly.

Edit: Whoops, I think it was another thread on this same subject.

Immie

Yes it would be nice to see the NAACP be consitent and condem the words of the New Black Panthers but I won't let their hypocricy stop me from doing what is right ;).

I agree. The New Black Panthers are much more dangerous because they endorse Islamic fundamentalism and hold Khalid Sheikh Mohammed up as a hero. At least the old BP movement was about civil rights for black people (although their tactics were not acceptable).
