MSNBC wants to know.

Would you support a law that allows the detention of any "pseudo-american" unable to trace his/her origins to at least 1200 AD?

Racial profile of likely suspects:

Fair complexion, blond hair, blue eyes, freckles etc, etc...

White America:

HELL NO!!

So far according to this poll, out of a total of 2,723,738 votes cast, 95.9% are against you.

This law is only designed to go after people who have violated immigration laws. It does not pertain to legal immigrants. People who have violated these laws could be of any nationality around the world.

The fact that the justice department isn't suing based on any thing related to racial profiling your fears are unfounded.

 Tell that to the training video that says you can't be arrested if you don't have your papers but you can be "detained". Any libertarian should be going "WTF?" at that.

A non scientific sample of 2,700,000.

Which is like 5 times the size of MSNBC's total audience.

And about 1% of the voting age population.

I wouldn't say it is totally accurate, but it is telling.

Tell that to Time.com and their poll for Person of the Year.

LOL Beukema...

My gene pool is OK, no need to worry. You see, my grandpa and granny didn't even have to flee Mexico to avoid starvation :D

And speaking of YOUR grandparents tell the couple of old farts to have their papers ready if they land anywhere in AZ.

How about a law booting out those of decendants that hid in Latin American countries instead of helping out the US fight WW1, WW2, Korean War, Vietnam War, Iraq War.........

No. Despite the wording of the bill, it gives police officers a mandate to de facto racial profile. Which means that, if you are a legal Hispanic in Arizona, you will be hassled for your "papers" every time you are stopped. That's just wrong.

Noone I know is worried about that.

Hell you dont even have to be legal to get a drivers liscense and a drivers liscense would prevent anything from happenning to an individual under this law.

C'mon modbert just read it before you make funny, off base, statements http://www.azleg.gov/legtext/49leg/2r/bills/sb1070s.pdf
