trump just didn't happen overnight in the republic party. White nationalism has been growing in the party since Nixon embraced it in the 68' election.

As for the Democratic Party, they were happy to move on the Dixiecrats as a morally bankrupt entity.

Please list which Democrat (and "Dixiecrat" for that matter) political leaders who publicly switched parties or became independent at the time to which you refer in #5.

They didn't have to switch

The voters were so outraged over losing Jim Crow that the voters switched

Yawn.

Jim Crow was a Democrat construct. Why would Democrats be angry about that?

Why....because Democrat LBJ put an end to it

By far, the most brutal chapter in American History was the Civil War. 600,000 people were killed in overthrowing the traitorous Confederacy that was established to preserve slavery

I'll let other people argue the other points, but just for the sake of historical honesty, I'd have to disagree with the second point.

The fact is that there were almost a hundred separate wars between the Native Americans and the White settlers. Some were started or instigated by the Settlers and some by the Native Americans. In some the settlers were clearly the guilty party, in some the native Americans were guilty - in many they were both guilty.

One thing is for sure - starting with the French & Indian war, the native Americans introduced a level of brutality that had not been seen by Europeans for centuries. Again during the American Revolution the Native Americans attacked settlements with absolute brutality - and George Washington responded in kind.
Next during the War of 1812 Native Americans attacked Mississippi valley settlements with equal cruelty.

This is how the extreme Anti-Native American culture of America got started. It may be 'Politically Correct' to view the Native Americans as the victims, but that's not the reality.

I'd agree that the wars with between the settlers and the Native Americans were among the most brutal chapters in American history, but I wouldn't paint it as the Native Americans being innocent.

Maybe not innocent but clearly the aggrieved party. A good although not perfect analogy would be current day Israel. You have settlers settling on land that is supposed to be Palestinian. Those Palestinians use violence in order to defend what they consider their land. Is the invaded at fault when resisting an invasion?

Left Winger's hating today's Southerners for the things that the Democratic Party did over three generations ago make as little sense as hating today's Germans and Japanese for things that happened in WWll.
But, the Dumb Democrat Bigots cling to their hate like a life preserver.
