Unemployment rate falls to 8.6% in November

(AP) Washington (AP) —The unemployment rate fell last month to its lowest level in more than two and a half years, as employers stepped up hiring in response to the slowly improving economy.

The Labor Department says the unemployment rate dropped sharply to 8.6% last month, from 9% in October. The rate hasn't been that low since March 2009, during the depths of the recession.
Employers added 120,000 jobs last month. And the previous two months were revised up to show that 72,000 more jobs added — the fourth straight month the government revised prior months higher.
Still, one reason the unemployment rate fell so much was because roughly 315,000 people gave up looking for work and were no longer counted as unemployed.

Sure it's good. Too bad though that the Christmas season won't last much past January..

They will find a reason why this is not good.

But...but......315,000 gave up seeking employment

And you are absolutely correct.... that is a huge reason not to look at this as some massive improvement... let alone when the numbers get 'revised' again after the fact... and the season we are in...

IMHO, more of the same rut we are in because of leftist rule

It may be up but just yesterday the numbers said that 406K people filed for the first time for unemployment . Its Christmas time. They hire seasonal work from SEPT to Christmas. Lets revisit this after the holidays

obama is done. Even the leadership democrats know it. His numbers are now lower than Jimmy Carters.

That's true. The first numbers on anything are never true. The revised numbers are far more accurate.

Famously, The Bush Family stopped looking for work in 1942, and had really stopped by March, 2009. The Obama Administration was coming into office, and the Economic Lubrication was about to get under way.

The Republicans commenced stopping anyone from looking for work: Continuing the heady pace of economic collapse they had created, post-their-bubble, in 2007. Front-Runner, Giingrich, claims to have known about what the Republicans were doing, all along, and so he sold his insider information(?)!

The Great Socialist Interventions, even in Europe: Are re-commencing. Chairman Bernanke, Hero Of The Revolution, has followed along what Karl Marx had proposed in 1849: Which is an expanding credit market concept, worldwide.

In Contrast: There are the internationally well-known, "Lands of Lincoln! One is called Haiti. One is called East Africa in Drought. Doubtless, other names can be thought of. These are the lands of no regulations, and complete laissez-faire: That McConnell, Boehner, and Cantor want for the United States.

Even the thought is seen perishing.

"Crow, James Crow: Shaken, Not Stirred!"
(The Finaly Solution To the Presbyterian Question is gaining ground: "Where is All this money going to come from(?)?!")

:clap2:

Now if we can continue this awesome trend past the christmas hiring season I will be estatic!

let's try this one more time for those who remain blissfully ignorant: The numbers are seasonally adjusted to remove the variation associated with holiday hiring

Oh, great. TneverM will be cackling and crowing about this all day today.

Too bad she won't correct herself when the numbers get revised down the road.

8.6% unemployment is 91.4% full employment and 91.4% of anything is pretty damn good.

Pay no attention to the christmas ornaments. It has nothing to do with the employment spike. Its all Barack, just ask the lefties.
