Middle class no longer dominates in the U.S.
So lets end liberal policies that are destroying the middle class!!
1) end highest liberal corporate taxes in world that force our companies off shore
2) end liberal labor unions that drove 20 million jobs to China
3) end liberal budget deficits that allow China to purchase our deficits rather than our products
4) end liberal, crippling near genocidal welfare programs that force people into the lower class
5) end the liberal war on our schools that renders many Americans to ignorant for middle class life
6) end the liberal war on our families that renders many American too damaged for middle class life.

Yet, before Reagan, we didn't have a peacetime deficit over 60 million, and it actually was declining under Carter, and it was the highpoint of "income equalization," with less tuition than public expeditures for education, and both Nixon and Ted agreed single payer was in the air

How did America end up with this health care system?

Not that neoliberalism has been a failure, but is ironic when people pine for yesteryear ..... yesteryear was the highpoint of FDR economics.

Think what changed since 1950
-Unions are nearly gone. This allows corporations to pay very little and the worker gets little or no voice!
-Our anti-trust laws have been stepped over allowing for corporations to buy out all the small businesses. Good luck competing as a middle class person in this environment.
-Corporations have finally bought government!!! Meaning that the government is giving them huge tax breaks and taking all the wealth.
-We allow corporations to move or transfer jobs/work to third world countries.

Sounds like what the op supports. A do nothing idiot that believes that the 1890's is better then the 1950's.

Exactly, yet we had economic stagnation in 1980. Neither party seems to have a plan to avoid that and at the same time allow the middle class to expand.

OP- Total dupe. Let's see, this started in the 80's DUH.

The Demise of the American Middle Class In Numbers.

Over the past 30 years the American dream has gradually disappeared. The process was slow, so most people didn’t notice. They just worked a few more hours, borrowed a little more and cut back on non-essentials. But looking at the numbers and comparing them over long time periods, it is obvious that things have changed drastically. Here are the details:

1. WORKERS PRODUCE MORE BUT THE GAINS GO TO BUSINESS.

Over the past 63 years worker productivity has grown by 2.0% per year.

But after 1980, workers received a smaller share every year. Labor’s share of income (1992 = 100%):

1950 = 101%
1960 = 105%
1970 = 105%
1980 = 105% – Reagan
1990 = 100%
2000 = 96%
2007 = 92%

A 13% drop since 1980

2. THE TOP 10% GET A LARGER SHARE.

Share of National Income going to Top 10%:

1950 = 35%
1960 = 34%
1970 = 34%
1980 = 34% – Reagan
1990 = 40%
2000 = 47%
2007 = 50%

An increase of 16% since Reagan.

3. WORKERS COMPENSATED FOR THE LOSS OF INCOME BY SPENDING THEIR SAVINGS.

The savings Rose up to Reagan and fell during and after.

1950 = 6.0%
1960 = 7.0%
1970 = 8.5%
1980 = 10.0% – Reagan
1982 = 11.2% – Peak
1990 = 7.0%
2000 = 2.0%
2006 = -1.1% (Negative = withdrawing from savings)

A 12.3% drop after Reagan.

4. WORKERS ALSO BORROWED TO MAKE UP FOR THE LOSS.

Household Debt as percentage of GDP:

1965 = 46%
1970 = 45%
1980 = 50% – Reagan
1990 = 61%
2000 = 69%
2007 = 95%

A 45% increase after 1980.

5. SO THE GAP BETWEEN THE RICHEST AND THE POOREST HAS GROWN.

Gap Between the Share of Capital Income earned by the top 1%
and the bottom 80%:

1980 = 10%
2003 = 56%

A 5.6 times increase.

6. AND THE AMERICAN DREAM IS GONE.

The Probably of Moving Up from the Bottom 40% to the Top 40%:

1945 = 12%
1958 = 6%
1990 = 3%
2000 = 2%

A 10% Decrease.

of course thats 100% stupid given that the Republican party has the perfect plan!!!

OP doesn't mention that republican ideas are what gave so much of our manufacturing jobs away

Over the past 30 years the American dream has gradually disappeared.

of course thats very stupid too given that we all can all afford all the greatest new inventions despite liberal interference in our economy!!!!

You don't need to be an economist to see how rich the middle class got by looking at all the new inventions they could suddenly afford in the last 10 years: suddenly we had plasma TV's, LCD TV's, DLP-TV's, iPods, iphones, CD's and CD players, DVDs and DVD players, Blue Ray and Blue Ray players, PCs, desk top PCs, DVRs, color printers, satellite radio, Advantium ovens, HD-TV, Playstations, X-Boxes, X-box live, X-box Konnect, broadband, satellite TV, cell/camera/video phones, digital cameras, OnStar, palm corders, Blackberries, smart phones, home theaters, SUVs, big houses, more houses per capita, TiVo, 3D movies and TV's, built in wine coolers, granite counter tops, $200 sneakers, Go Pro Cameras, GPS navigation, consumer drones, color matched front loader washing machines, internet Facebook, Pandora, LTE-U, run flat tires, matching washer dryer combinations, McMansions, 4K TV, Iphone 6+, burner commercial ranges, Sub Zero refridgerators, Tesla cars, private space flight, more cars than drivers, a $1 billion ring tone industry, a pet industry that just doubled to $34 billion, 10's of millions lining up to buy Apple's I-tablet, Wii, Fit bits, Apple watches, Netflix boxes, jet skis, induction cooking, low profile tires, aluminum/titanium rims, Harley Davidson and Japanese motorcycles. $700 Billion spent Christmas 2010, $10.5 billion movies 2010, 10 million ocean crusies, 44 million taking plane flights over 2012 holiday, $500 billion spent on Christmas 2012, hover boards, Ti Vi Bolt, Tesla cars, cloud storage, 4k Oled TV,
hover boards.

The list goes on and on. I hope that helps you realize you can't just parrot the communist press and expect to make sense? They have other objectives and are merely using you to promote their point of view.

too stupid since it is Republicans that want to eliminate the corporate tax that drove the companies and jobs away!!

the middle class reached its highest success prior to Reagan.

the middle class reached its highest success prior to Reagan.

totally irrelevant since that was after WW2 when we had only economy left standing in world and before globalization. Toyoto was just bringing in its first cars then.

Why is it stupid?

Yeah, corporate trade deals don't do it, does it?

free trade deals encourage companies to compete internationally which is a great thing but not for American companies when they are saddled with the highest taxes in the world!! Do you have the IQ to understand?

I thought the conservative God of free trade drove the jobs to China.

Foreign countries have lower corporate taxes because they have a VAT tax. Would you like a VAT tax?

Where are the 'conservative' countries in the world who prosper because they don't have the 6 items you believe cause our jobs problems?
