Socialism is the government using tax dollars to pay for goods and services for the public. There is a level of socialism in every country including the US of A! I have no illusion that Bachmann is being an extremist with her rhetoric, since the majority of Obamination care is to push more private insurance.

However, I know its hard for you to believe, but this is a step towards getting to a single payor/Universal Healthcare plan. In America it would be near impossible to move to UHC in one step. Obamacare does indeed make more people reliant on government assistance (it would have been much greater if there was the public option)! It also increases the cost of private insurance to individuals and business.

I guarantee, if Obama gets reelected, at least the public option comes back to the table.

"promote the General Welfare". Key word: Promote. Not provide - you will notice that the founders wrote 'provide for' when referring to defending the nation.

And... the Preamble is not the Articles that gives the Federal Government the responsibility. It is the 'why' of the Constitution..... the 'how' is the Articles.
