Your Pagan society did not want to hear about their idol worship and child sacrifices (now you sacrifice their future & progress), nor did they care to be warned of the scams and unfair taxing or the subversive authorities. Elijah poked fun at their Baal worship and Daniel exposed their Priests of Bel gathering food offering donations to Bel only to sneak in at night with their families to eat all that food. Harvest seed scams were prominent to the churches fleecing the flocks as ot still is today whereby seed=money now.
Liberation requires taking that helping hand not chopping it off or wanting to convert it towards your illogical precepts. Like when they tortured, murdered and forced converted their liberators they remained slaves until Shiloh liberates them in spite of the treatment that entails, now that is truly by grace. The willingness to sacrifice popularity and security in order to lift you silly crabs out of your little crab bucket.
