Is there anything anywhere that is not racist? We have to start teaching math differently now because math is racist? How can math be racist except to those who think everything is racist, even if it is an inanimate object? Inanimate objects are not racist.

The bad thing is not noting the racial disparity; the bad thing will be what the Leftist Academic Establishment will do to reduce or eliminate the disparity. Water down content, focus on "word problems" where there is no right/wrong answer, and so on. It was done a generation ago when Barbie said she didn't like Math.

If your demographic group is a full standard deviation below the norm in IQ, AND you have a culture that disdains education, what is the expected result? We are seeing it.

God bless the talented, intelligent Blacks who ignore the culture and persevere, but there are not enough of them.

The math is racist argument comes from the fact that most math related word problems in standardized tests are written in ways that most poor people can't clearly understand. It's not racism per se, but more that the people writing the questions write them from their own experiences and often include things that people who are less well off might not have any experience.

The fact that non-white people make up the vast majority of poor people makes some claim that it's racism but it's more about well off people expecting everyone to have a clear understanding of things that really only people who are well off would have any experience.

The issue isn't really racism in this case it's a lack of economic diversity In the types of questions that are included in standardized tests.

Yet not one single person addressed this issue in the decades of affirmative action? Sorry, that dog don't hunt. It is the decades of millions of dollars wasted with no positive results that have made math racist.

Math is racist because the minorities can’t understand English is an amazing way to promote the public school system. If your school can’t teach you enough English to read a math problem we should probably call it all racist and spend more money on the great success of public schools.

Fuck off.

It isn't even an object. It's a form of computational deduction. Bottom line... If a group categorically fails to grasp, and succeed at the concept..; the concept is "Racist"...

They will "fix" this perceived racial inequity by lowering standards. Lower standards naturally result in lower performance. The converse is also true.

It's not logical for them to wish all races to get equal scores in all subjects. I am great at math but not so good at basketball.

The real reason for the disparity is not the math, it's the upbringing and lack of two-parent households.

Math is Racist

Sure is.

I'm white, lemme splain... Malcom and Jerome are on the stoop each enjoying their fresh 40. Jerome has to hand Malcom his 40 to step to the curb to handle a customer and when he gets his 40 back it seems a tad light. Hard to tell what with the brown bag. A conversation ensues...

Jerome: "I beg your pardon but did you drink some of my 40?"
Malcome: "Pray tell what makes you ask such a thing?"
Jerome: "Well, I had a 40, gave it to you for a bit, got it back now it doesn't seem like a 40 any more."
Malcome: "What is it now?"
Jerome: "I can not express that in mathematical terms."

We have to start teaching math differently now because math is racist?
Math itself is NOT racist in any way, shape or form.

See Below for Word Problem Racism.

Word Problems, that bring in Culture and Reading Skills, now that's a different Animal.

Clearly Bob's Word Problems below speak clearly to the Hood, the Illegals and the Rednecks.

This is CLEARLY racist against the white Christian named Luke, or John, or Gay Paul.
