I'm not wrong. George washington grew hemp, the declaration of indepdence was written on hemp. hemp was the most widely cultivated crop in the united states before dupont developed chemicals for breaking down wood into pulp. it was made illegal because it was profitable for chemical and lumber companies. that is why it was made illegal. that is just a fact. it was not made illegal because smoking marijuana is unhealthy. marijuana is a softer drug than both alcohol and tobacco. health had nothing to do with why marijuana was made illegal.

initial health claims about marijuana and the effect it has on the mind and body have all been proven untrue. even if it WAS made illegal for health reasons in the 30's which it absolutely positively was not, all the claims made at the time about it filling people with homocidal urges, homosexuality, insanity, etc have all been proven untrue. Nobody made weed illegal cus it makes you hungry and like i've said over and over, there's no evidence that shows marijuana has any permanent negative effects on the brain - we don't know what it does really and we haven't bothered to find out because it doesn't seem to be harmful.
