Marco Rubio is a Drooling Idiot for Claiming Trumps Emergency is Unconstitutional

Family apprehension is a national emergency?

More illegals apprehended at the border is,family or not.
Were they murderers or drug dealers?

WTF does that have to do with it?
What it has to do with is that is the reason Trump is declaring an emergency

He claims he is protecting us from murderers and drug dealers rather than lawn maintenance workers and house maids

We don't need protection from the guy who busses tables, fool. though economically we do need to be protected from
tens of millions of illegals. We do need to be protected from drug cartels, street gangs, illegal criminals, etc.

While the southern border is a problem, it seems difficult to justify calling it an emergency.

Congress, Democrats and Republicans, should resolve this with a veto proof majority.

It’s the best way for the Republicans to prevent even worse overreach by a future Democrat president.

Now Dimocrats have been making the same claim, but that is just Dimocrat rhetorical style, when the facts get in your way just lie. But Rubio is the same party as Trump, technically anyway, and he has no incentive to challenge Trump on this other than one; he genuinely thinks Trump is violating the Constitution.

Here’s why Trump’s move to declare a state of emergency is unconstitutional

“This is the first time a president has tried to declare an emergency when Congress explicitly rejected funding for the particular project that the president is advocating,” Schiff, who chairs the House Intelligence, said on CNN’s State of the Union.

“And in saying just the other day that he didn’t really need to do this — he just wanted to do it because it would help things go faster — he’s pretty much daring the court to strike this down. So it’s hard to imagine a poorer case.”

Schiff said he sees this moment as a test for Republicans in Congress and whether they will stand up to Trump and deny him the ability to circumvent the legislative branch’s power....

“The [risk] is that we limit the president’s power to act when it really is necessary, when it is not practical to bring the Congress into session on a moment’s notice. But this president doesn’t care about future presidents. He only cares about himself. And in this case, he only cares about placating his conservative critics.”

Trump officially declared a state of emergency Friday, infuriating members of Congress from both parties. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) described it as an “end run around Congress,” while Republicans have raised red flags about the precedent Trump’s decision might set.

“We have a crisis at our southern border, but no crisis justifies violating the Constitution,” Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said last week, ahead of the declaration, which had been expected for weeks.

“Today’s national emergency is border security. But a future president may use this exact same tactic to impose the Green New Deal,” Rubio said.

This is just stupid. There is no violation of the Constitution as the law authorizing this emergency declarastion is like 40+ years old. Congress can pass a resolution to end it, but the President can veto it. Then Congress would have to have a veto proof majority to make their will stick.

Why would a majority of Republicans in the Senate pull the rug out from under the President of their own party to put in place something that their party really needs, the country really needs and would help save literally thousands of American lives each year?

If it were simple Kuch corruption then I could understand it, but the Kuch brothers always manage to get their way through riders and that sort of thing. They dont need a wall or a lack of wall. They own the Congresscritters in the GOP.

So why would Rubiooo throw himself on his own sword and likely get primaried? OR defeated in the general because Republicans wont turn out for him at the polls in a purple state like Floriduh so he can win?

There is only one answer; the man is as stupid as a CNN reporter.
Why would a majority of Republicans in the Senate pull the rug out from under the President of their own party
Because they're right and the President is wrong.

Silly OldLady....
There are plenty anti Trumpers that are republicans.
I cant believe you dont know this.
I don't know what makes you think I didn't know that.
If YOU are basing the Republicans' reaction on a knee jerk anti-Trump reaction, you're sadly mistaken this time. The President is violating the checks and balances built into our government as safeguards against a leader who will not abide by the rules.
Trump is wrong. The Republicans saying so are right for once.

You're just parroting what your masters are telling you.
I have no masters. I read a civics book once in high school.

Little Marco should resign

Rubio has turned into a RINO if the first order. Recently he also is proposing a federal Red Flag Law. He can never again claim to care about the constitution. Not only do red flag laws violate the 2A, but they also deny due process.

Congress has had since 1986 to secure the border like they promised. They still haven't done it, so fuck 'em! They're fired.

Spoken like a true cultist!

Bad-mouthing Rubio and/or Congress isn't a constitutional argument.

What kind of politics is Rubio in these days, you guys?

past presidents said no such thing.

President Donald Trump claimed without evidence on Friday that past presidents have privately confided to him that they regret not building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

But at least three of the four living U.S. presidents — Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama — did no such thing.

Asked if Clinton told Trump that he should have built a border wall, Clinton spokesman Angel Ureña said, “He did not. In fact, they’ve not talked since the inauguration.”

Bush spokesman Freddy Ford also said the two men had not discussed the matter. And Obama, for his part, has not spoken with Trump since his inauguration, except for a brief exchange at George H.W. Bush’s funeral in Washington, D.C.
Yes they did. Clinton in a 1994 speech said we did. Oh and you boy Obama did also.
If Clinton did say something in 1994 it was during the years when border apprehensions were peaking. If it wasn`t an emergency when a million and a half were apprehended how is it an emergency when the numbers are 20-30% of that?
The Stats on Border Apprehensions - FactCheck.org

Ask your fact checker what president built the most border wall. I already know, but curious as to how accurate it is.

Or..you could not be intellectually lazy; Do the research and find out for yourself. :dunno:

Rubio is a RINO and a swamp dweller if the first order.
Maybe, but he's cute as a button.

maybe because those who have "been there, done that" don't want the dems to pull a "hey, guns are now a national emergency" and start using this "method" as a way around our checks and balances.

the wall simply isn't worth that to me; opening up that bag of poo.

for 99% of the election i thought he was a tool. i was laughing hard as christie was mocking him during a debate.

"see, look. he's putting on the act again..." "look, there it is!" and every time it was because rubio was talking his "fake" talking points in the "perfect language". but when they got called out for looking like kids and rubio opened up and just spoke openly about how he felt and how acting like a "child" in that phase was counter productive.

he rose quite a bit after that with me and he never really put that act on again. while we may have different reasons to appreciate him, if he feels this is a wrong move it's his obligation to say so. it's EVERYONES obligation. people constantly tell the "other" side to stop parroting the bulletpoints but get upset when their side doesn't parrot their points.

we need to sit down and talk this out like adults and not a bunch of kids trying to outdo each other in the playground.

Even though I don't agree with some of his positions, especially GUNS, I would certainly have considered voting for him. I believe he is basically honest, and that is worth a lot.

well there was the huge argument (trump led) during the debate where they all looked like jr high kids fighting over the last chocolate milk half pint. it was stupid and embarrassing. after that rubio came out and said his daughter i believe told him how bad he looked and he looked again and agreed. since then he was really more "guy next door" and someone i felt was being honest with me on how he felt or his positions.

i put a lot of value on that. whether i agree is a different story but i need to believe THEY believe what they say. huge first step to getting me to like anyone at all in politics. keeping an eye on him to be sure.

Exactly. AND he's cute as a button.

When he made the comment about small hands, he did look like a junior high kid, smirk and all. It's clear Rubio knows how to throw mud bombs and when he was 12, he enjoyed it (did you see the sparkle in his eye?). I'm glad his daughter set him straight on playground battle maneuvers--Rubio very obviously outgrew that stuff a long time ago and it doesn't fit his personality at all.

well there was the huge argument (trump led) during the debate where they all looked like jr high kids fighting over the last chocolate milk half pint. it was stupid and embarrassing. after that rubio came out and said his daughter i believe told him how bad he looked and he looked again and agreed. since then he was really more "guy next door" and someone i felt was being honest with me on how he felt or his positions.

i put a lot of value on that. whether i agree is a different story but i need to believe THEY believe what they say. huge first step to getting me to like anyone at all in politics. keeping an eye on him to be sure.

Exactly. AND he's cute as a button.

When he made the comment about small hands, he did look like a junior high kid, smirk and all. It's clear Rubio knows how to throw mud bombs and when he was 12, he enjoyed it (did you see the sparkle in his eye?). I'm glad his daughter set him straight on playground battle maneuvers--Rubio very obviously outgrew that stuff a long time ago and it doesn't fit his personality at all.
he's a much better person when he doesn't do that crap.

we all are, i suppose.

So when did Rubio declare that Obama was unconstitutional for declaring his national emergencies?

Crickets.

a crisis is NOT a National emergency.... Quite simple... Really.
Not until someone declares it one who has legal authority to do so.
Jim, congress did NOT write a law to give the President power to call a National emergency, for something they can handle. They gave him this option, for when they are not in town when a National Emergency occurs or there is no time for Congress to appropriate and pass legislation to handle this NATIONAL EMERGENCY immediately.

That is NOT the case with border security.... Congress just passed legislation, of which the president signed, to handle the crisis of border security.

Congress did their jobs.

They told the President, this is the money we need to handle the crisis, and this is what the money should be spent on, to handle the crisis.

the President can't just buck the will of the people and the constitution and do some sort of reach around, to buck what our representatives voted on.

Obama didn't use national emergencies to steal money that Congress refused to give him.
