There has been a lot of stupid talk about limiting magazine capacity for guns......it is stupid because it has no bearing on crime or mass shootings....
But..it is another example of the anti-gun bait and switch tactic.
Most people think "high capacity" magazines are for rifles, and many think Drum Magazine with 100 round capability....and when you ask a non gun owner, that is what they will respond with....
The anti-gunners...they use "high capacity" as a lie to dupe normal people, that is the bait........this way they get every non gun owner on board to ban high capacity magazines.......and if they pass the law...then they do the switch....
All of a sudden, normal magazines for pistols will be found to have been designated as High Capacity....15 round pistol magazines that have been designed for the specific pistol.......
And with that switch, whole models of pistol will now be illegal because the retooling to provide magazines are not going to be worth it......thus a ban on these pistols will be accomplished....

As a practical matter, many competent defensive weapons have no reduced capacity magazines available, and tooling costs preclude any possibility of making them profitably to sell at an affordable price.
If no reduced capacity “ammunition holding device” is available, owners of many fine defensive weapons would have no choice but to attempt to use their gun as a single shot, or to dispose of it. No doubt Kaine, like his Party, would prefer a disarmed populace so that is the probable reason for the call.
