This is why you don't vote for dems if you want freedom....New (dem) Proposed gun laws for Virginia

From VCDL:
A bunch of horrible gun-control bills were introduced today. Take a deep breath and read on:

  • Make carry of an air gun on school property a felony
  • Take away gun rights for 5 years for a simple assault (a misdemeanor) (SCOTUS would kill that dead)
  • Require new and renewing CHP holders to be fingerprinted
  • Make it illegal for anyone under 21 to buy any kind of firearm – handguns, rifles, shotguns
  • Put a 5% tax on guns and ammunition to fund a “gun violence intervention program”. (grift)
  • Require a 5-day waiting period on purchasing a firearm
  • NRA and USCCA instructors can no longer teach gun safety classes to get a CHP
  • NRA license plates will no longer be available. How petty and vindictive is that?

  • And these bills were put in earlier:
  • Prohibit concealed carry in restaurants that serve alcohol
  • Make “assault weapons” and magazines that hold more than 10 rounds both illegal if made after July 1 of this year
  • Make “assault weapon” possession illegal for anyone under the age of 21
  • Make legally owned (and very expensive) auto sears illegal
  • Ban carry in hospitals, emergency rooms, or other places that provide mental health or developmental services
  • Require a 3-day waiting period for purchasing a firearm
  • Make it illegal to carry an “assault weapon” in a public location, including even roads and sidewalks
  • Make unserialized guns, even those made before 1968, illegal....(WTF?)
  • Take away a person’s gun rights for 5 years for a second offense of drunk driving
  • Take away the gun rights of a person living in the home with someone else who happens to be the subject of a red flag gun ban.....(double WTF)

  • And these are not all the gun-control bills!
Looks like the governor's veto pen will have to have a refill cartridge. ;)

Jokes aside this is what all states can expect when dems gain any power.

Never, ever vote for any democrat, even if they are right on one issue...democrats are fascists to their core......never vote for them.

Also many of the illegals crossing the Mexican border right now may end up voting for Democrats once they become citizens. If that happens, this nation may end up as a Marxist socialist shit hole.
we years back the governor wanted to ban AR style weapons but over 100 cities and counties signed resolutions where they would not enforce the ban.

  • NRA and USCCA instructors can no longer teach gun safety classes to get a CHP.
That is plain stupid. They are the experts.

  • Prohibit concealed carry in restaurants that serve alcohol
I didn't realize legal, concealed carry citizens were shooting up restaurants in our state. Hell, they better not go to a bar in Alabama. You can carry and have a drink as long as you are not drunk.

THe rest are too stupid to comment on.

I live in Wisconsin and our concealed carry law is more relaxed than some. I can carry in a bar, as long as I'm not drinking any alcohol. We don't have restrictions on "printing", as some states do. If my pistol leaves a visible outline on my shirt in the Summer, it's no big deal. Also businesses that restrict the carrying of a weapon have to have a visible sign on all entrances. If you ignore the sign and somehow get caught, all they can do is ask you to leave. If you don't leave and they call the police, it's only a misdemeanor trespassing ticket.

I got my license back in 2011 when Scott Walker passed the bill. I didn't have to take any training and my DD-214 military separation papers were all I had to produce. That and the $50 fee for the background check. The license is good for 5 years at a time and there's no fee to renew it.

Pretty much the same for my state, except we do not need a permit to carry.
I keep mine to facilitate firearms purchases and carry in states that require permits.

I live in a county in Florida that is a gun sanctuary. The number of gun sanctuary counties in Florida is growing every year.

That is how VA is. For now. NC does or had a printing law. A couple of years ago they did away with the online safety course for the CCP and it had to be in person. But I have a DD 214 and didn't have to do either when I got mine years ago.

I had a instructor's cert from the VDOC so I was GTG as far as the training part went.

Democrats hold a very narrow margin in Va. state congress with a conservative republican governor. It's strange that they would go off on an attack on 2nd Amendment rights in an election year. Maybe they are counting on losing it all in November so they don't give a damn anymore.

Virginia gun owners fuck themselves by not voting republican. They should have known this was coming.

Semi-auto rifle ban just passed the House. We are likely going to need a Youngkin veto to stop it...

Bill text:

"Assault firearm" means any semi-automatic center-fire rifle or pistol which expels single or multiple projectiles by action of an explosion of a combustible material and is equipped at the time of the offense with a magazine which will hold more than 20 rounds of ammunition or designed by the manufacturer to accommodate a silencer or equipped with a folding stock.

Not an 'assault weapon':

It looks like he vetoed all of them or most of them. The people that want to disarm citizens will not stop though. They aren't exactly evil, but woefully ignorant and easily led. Virginia hasn't gone down the rabbit hole for now, but that could change.
