Looks like Patrick McHenry overstepped his bounds.

Not a big fan of Nancy Pants, but taking her office space his first or second day in acting office at a time that she could plausibly claim to be grieving over a beloved colleague was a pretty dumb move. It smacks of being whatever the civilian version of a martinet is.

This guy was Kevin McCarthy's handpicked successor, in case of something like being vacated out of the speaker's podium. He squandered an opportunity to rise up, denounce the "radical" element that ousted McCarthy, and look for ways to give Dems plausible cover to vote for him in the name of bi-partisanship. Instead, his number one priority was a more prestigious office in line with his very temporary lucking into the role.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he turns out to be a foul up, just like McCarthy. Fuck bi-partisanship. Bi-partisan action is the enemy of the people. We need our adversarial system to be real. We need the budget-cutters to have some power, and the willingness to use it to slow down the rush to bankruptcy.

Every time I hear about a law or action having "bi-partisan" support, I know my wallet is about to be lighter.
"Bi-partisan support" = The people are about to get hosed and most likely Congress enriched.

He doesn't have the power to rearrange the lunch menu, much less the office assignments.

Gotta keep a close on on the little fucker and make sure he doesn't try to push anything else through.

Was the Pelosi bitch crying like a little pussy school girl again?

(3)(A) In the case of a vacancy in the Office of
Speaker, the next Member on the list described
in subdivision (B) shall act as Speaker pro tempore
until the election of a Speaker or a Speaker
pro tempore. Pending such election the Member
acting as Speaker pro tempore may exercise
such authorities of the Office of Speaker as may
be necessary and appropriate to that end.

The Speaker pro tempore, as the occupant of the Chair, exercises
many functions that normally fall within the purview of the Speaker.

functions that are within the scope of authority of a Speaker pro
tempore are calling the House to order, making various announcements,
answering parliamentary inquiries, putting the question, counting for
a quorum, ruling on points of order, and designating another Speaker
pro tempore. Deschler Ch 6 Sec. Sec. 9, 10. When the Office of Speaker
is vacant, the Member acting as Speaker pro tempore under rule I
section 8(b) may exercise such authorities of the Office as may be
necessary and appropriate pending the election of a Speaker or Speaker
pro tempore.
The authority of a Speaker pro tempore to exercise certain powers

depends on whether he is designated, designated and approved, or
elected. The powers of a designated Speaker pro tempore, compared with
those of an elected Speaker pro tempore, are relatively limited.
Deschler Ch 6 Sec. Sec. 10, 14.
Absent unanimous consent or specific House approval, a designated

Speaker pro tempore may not:

Administer the oath of office to a Member-elect. Deschler Ch 6
Sec. 12.8.
Announce appointments made by the Speaker pursuant to law. 96-
1, Jan. 31, 1979, p 1511.
Appoint conferees or make appointments of additional
conferees. Deschler Ch 6 Sec. Sec. 12.9, 12.10.
Appoint Members to attend a funeral. Deschler Ch 6 Sec. 12.14.
Spread upon the Journal a veto message from the President.
Deschler Ch 6 Sec. 12.11.

By contrast, an elected Speaker pro tempore may, for example,
appoint conferees, administer the oath of office to a Member-elect,
and preside at a joint session of Congress. Deschler Ch 6
Sec. Sec. 12.8, 14, 14.8.

Office assignment is one of the things he can do. :tongue-44:

Oo! He gets a telegraph, too! :spinner:

"
The Speaker's compensation is fixed by law.(19) Statutes
provide the Speaker with an expense allowance,(20) a postage
allowance,(1) a mileage allowance for travel to and from
each regular session,(2) a stationery
allowance,(3) telephone, telegraph, and radiotelegraph
allowances,
(4) clerk-messengers,(5) and
additional compensation for personal services in his

Half the panhandle is considered Alabama, tard. They call it "L.A." for Lower Alabama.

People there might go to Alabama to shop or get gas.

People don't drive from Maryland to CA and back in an hour.
Except he doesn't even live in the panhandle tard. And the panhandle is in FLORIDA TARD!!!!!!!

OK. Not sure what the Guide is. I cited the actual rule It clearly states that in the event of a vacancy of the Speaker, the pro tempore "may exercise such authorities of the Office of Speaker as may be necessary and appropriate to that end."

Pelosi need to just stop her white privilege whining.

If I moved to another State I would re-register. Is that so hard for you to comprehend?

I guess you forgot all about Dr. Oz and where he lived and owned homes and where he lost to Fetterman and it wasn't New Jersey.
So when is she moving to Kalifornia?
