I think that you are making a patently incorrect assertion. I would venture to say that the people you are calling Liberals , are not Liberal at all. Liberalism is about Liberty, I don't think that too many conservatives are about Liberty at all.

I'm a modern day Liberal, let's start with something as simple as the Bill of Rights and see where we stand on each issue.
