My guess is that the only people that will be surprised by this will be the Obama administration and the Obama Justice department.

Lawyer: 9/11 defendants want platform for views

    By KAREN MATTHEWS

NEW YORK (AP) - The five men facing trial in the Sept. 11 attacks will plead not guilty so that they can air their criticisms of U.S. foreign policy, the lawyer for one of the defendants said Sunday.

Scott Fenstermaker, the lawyer for accused terrorist Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali, said the men would not deny their role in the 2001 attacks but "would explain what happened and why they did it."

The U.S. Justice Department announced earlier this month that Ali and four other men accused of murdering nearly 3,000 people in the deadliest terrorist attack in the U.S. will face a civilian federal trial just blocks from the site of the destroyed World Trade Center.

Ali, also known as Ammar al-Baluchi, is a nephew of professed 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

Mohammed, Ali and the others will explain "their assessment of American foreign policy," Fenstermaker said.

"Their assessment is negative," he said.

Fenstermaker met with Ali last week at the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. He has not spoken with the others but said the men have discussed the trial among themselves.

Its up to the judge to decide what is pertinent to their defense. He can shut down any grand standing. Most judges do

This WILL, as has already been noted, be the BIGGEST MISTAKE any sitting President has EVER made in the history of the United States of America.

If obama were to be impeached and thrown out of office TODAY, it wouldn't be TOO SOON.

Oh yeah... as the WORLD looks on... you moron liberals are going to GIVE the terrorists RIGHTS, which INCLUDES "freedom of speech," and then TAKE THEM AWAY?

You're fucking cracked. These terrorists are going to turn this shit into the biggest circus this country has ever seen, and it's going to take YEARS and MILLIONS of dollars.

Circus is right. This trial is being held in order to deflect attention away from the policies that are causing Obama's poll numbers to fall. They want the nation to be talking about torture, Dick Cheney and how terrible the United States has behaved under George Bush. The nation will be encourage to talk about anything other than the current economy, the health care takover, sky high tax increases, the deficit and we should certainly not talk about the people that died on 9/11. You can bet those victims will NOT be the focus of this trial.

WAG THE DOG brother... WAG THE DOG.

Regardless, this is just another BAD political decision on part of the barry camp, and it WILL back fire. We're already seeing it.
