It is their choice to do whatever it is that they end up doing. If you stop, that could make things worse especially if there are other cars around you. In other words, your decision to stop could then cause a pile up. If anyone is going to be hurt or dead, those people should never be people who don't have anything to do with whatever the problem is in the first place.
