Israel has informed several Arab states that it wants to carve out a buffer zone on the Palestinian side of Gaza's border to prevent future attacks as part of proposals for the enclave after war ends, Egyptian and regional sources said.

According to three regional sources, Israel related its plans to its neighbors Egypt and Jordan, along with the United Arab Emirates, which normalized ties with Israel in 2020.

They also said that Saudi Arabia, which does not have ties with Israel and which halted a US-mediated normalization process after the Gaza war flared on Oct. 7, had been informed. The sources did not say how the information reached Riyadh, which officially does not have direct communication channels with Israel. Non-Arab Turkey was also told, the sources said.

The initiative does not indicate an imminent end to Israel's offensive - which resumed on Friday after a seven-day truce - but it shows Israel is reaching out beyond established Arab mediators, such as Egypt or Qatar, as it seeks to shape a post-war Gaza.

Israel's post war Gaza policy is starting to take shape.

This should have been in place long ago. Israel should have had it in place after Egypt failed in their attack against them. By the way Egypt didn't want Gaza back.even.when Israel offered it post war as they didn't want to be responsible for the citizens there.

Being in charge of Gaza or accepting the population into Egypt would give Israel an excuse to invade and take land from Egypt.

No. this is after the war of 67 or 73 I forget which year (probaly 67) but after Eqypt and Syria were thwarted in their attempt to destroy Israel, Egypt lost land which Israel returned some but offered to return more but Egypt refused. It's a really peculiar thing. Egypt had occupied Gaza for decades but never officialy "owned" it. Still, peculiar.

Once Hamas is destroyed, unless the Palestinians are given a state, full sovereignty, autonomy and political representation?

. . . all of this is just bloviating and shit in the wind.

The occupation needs to end, that is what is causing the problems.

Hamas is a symptom, not the cause.

That makes absolutely no sense at all.
Me neither. She just likes to bash Israel.

Israel definitely needs a buffer zone from the Muslims who support the elimination of Israel, and all her Jews, thereby rendering the entire Middle East essentially Judenfrei.

1/3 of Gaza could be annexed back to Israel as buffer zone ( With IDF stationed in pacified Gaza for 24 months after fighting ends )
I think annexation of more land by Israel would be a poison pill for any chance of future resolution. However, a partition of Gaza under joint Israeli/Arab supervision might lead to an eventually peaceful reconciliation as was the case with East and West Germany.

The Buffer Zone should be filled with Landmines and Rockets 🚀

Sharia in the Sahara

The only way to peace is to deport all Arabs from Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel itself. And not to any neighbor. They must be sent off to North Africa.

Buffer Zones won't stop rockets or gliders. The proposed solution is a Maginot Line. Besides, even small-arms fire will kill any Israelis in the fluffy buffer.

When the Palestinians talk about the occupation, they are referring to all of Israel, not just the territories, so there is no solution to the conflict in the foreseeable future, and there is nothing to be done but to manage the conflict better, but certainly there can be no Palestinians state anywhere until the Palestinians can produce a leaders who can credibly offer peace to Israel, and we will not see that happen anytime soon.

Some problems can't be solved, they can only be managed better.

The Israelis did that in 2000 when they finally left Lebanon. They planted tens of thousands of landmines.. very savage.
Oh… So putting landmines within the “ 67 Borders “ we hear about and aiming Rockets at them ; firing at them whenever a Rocket shoots into Israel is “ Savage” but what they did wasn’t. Typical dim witted ignorant mentality

That person to speak for them is doubtful to be you.

The world speaks of "occupation," not just the Palestinians. The only ones who don't recognize this reality, are Zionists.

Don't try to gas-light or twist reality.

So, thanks for the bloviating.

The reality is that the so called Palestinians have been trying to destroy Israel/Jews since 1920, and all the things they complain about are the results of these efforts, and that remains their goal today: that's why they will not get a state of their own. Hamas is straight forward about its intentions to destroy Israel, and the pro Palestinians rampaging through the streets of Europe and the US chanting from the river to the sea are also calling for a genocide of the Jews.
