Yeah CNN international does what a news organization is suppose to do, report the news as it happens. CNN America is an entertainment channe.

Agreed. For that matter, all the other 24/7 "newz" networks are infotainment channels too. A little bit of news mixed with a whole shitpot full of opinion, exaggerations and what many people call bullshit. FNC caters to the far Right and MSNBC caters to the far Left. CNN caters to old people.

I pointed out to my wife one time how you can tell the targeted demographics of a show by it's commercials. Watch MTV and it's all about toys and video games. CNN is Depends, Cialis and Tums. The marketing can change a bit depending on the time slot, but overall, that's who watches CNN; old farts like me. I only watch about 30-60 minutes in the morning, then switch to movies and broadcast tv shows I've DVR'd.

You are unlikely very worldly, but the last time my ass stayed glued to the couch watching Fox was for about a half hour in my last visit to the States in 2009. The only American media freely available outside of the US is CNN International which is about as bad as the stateside version.

Right below my avatar. It's no secret. CNN Int is of course globally oriented but their US coverage is just as biased as the US network. BBC is even worse.

Bottom Line: There are more similarities between CNN and the the other alphabet media sites and a state run press than there are differences.

In a nutshell: the msm is basically a propaganda machine...fox only does sightly better.

I will stick with breitbart, drudge, and other right wing sources....more truth there.

What is desperately needed is a cable news network dedicated to the facts, the truth and with very aggressive investigative journalists-- real journalists with some intelligence, analytical ability and dedication to get to the truth and let the chips fall where they may.
